  • I expained in the artical on the main page about how the "Pit" at this show is actually a small pit section in the ground right in front of the stage, as well as ahead of the lawn tickets. It only hold about 100-200 paople MAX, so it is tiny. When I saw radiohead here last summer, the only people that had pit tickets were lucky ones that got them through Radioheads official fan club W.A.S.T.E. in a random drawing, or VIP's. If you are gonna try to buy pit tickets on ebay, be very aware since most of those ticket places selling tickets as "Pit" are actually on the lawn. It's pretty hard to find any actuall pit tickets.
But, the day of the Radiohead show, they released a ton of extra tickets in the afternoon at the box office. The show had sold out in 3 minutes when they originally went on sale. If you went to the window and asked for tickets, they would give you whatever seats the machine spit out. The trick to getting the sold out lawn tickets there is to ask the person at the box office for lawn tickets. They might not have them one minute, then they will have some 10 minutes later. It's very tricky. Don't take this as total fact, but it's what they did at the Radiohead show. And their tour was supposedly the hardest to get any tickets for last summer. Just get there early. I has crappy seats, but I got lawn tickets from the box office at around 3:00 pm.
Another trick about pit tickets.......I have heard many times that at the shows here, they will pick people on the lawn to go into the pit. People that look attractive, are dressed nice or wild, etc. Ther are supposedly guys that stand aroing near the lawn area with walkie-talkies and stuff that will get youn into the pit if you find them, and ask to go into the pit. I did not see any of these guys at Radiohead, but I have heard this from numerous people about the Santa Barbara Bowl. I stayed in the front row of the lawn and actaully had a better view than the people in the pit cause the lawn is at the exact same level as the stage, whereas the pit is lower than the stage. If you wanna touch Morrissey or get on the stage, forget it as there is no way to reach the stage from the lawn. There was no barrier in the pit though, and if they were to put one in, there would only be enough room for like 50 people. Forget about trying to jump from the lawn to the pit as they are seperated by two barriers with a row of security in between. The sides of the stage on the lawn area are the weak points. the barrier in front of the lawn only goes in a crecsent shape around the stage, much like the way it is at Universal Ampitheater. The sides of the stage are at the exact same level at the lawn. They have one security guard in a chair blocking this part of the stage. There is noramally no barrier within this 3 foot width of space. just the guy in the chair. Again, I don't know if Morrissey will have them put barbed wire or something there, but that's the way it is noramally. Get past that guy, and you just step onto the stage. I am not condoning everyone to rush the stage, and have the show end early or something, but I just wanted to let you know what to expect if you have never been to this venue before. The main thing is if you buy tix from scalpers or e-bay, be aware that a lot of the "pit" tickets are not that. They are lawn. The pit tickets will say "Pit" and the lawn will just say "GA standing room only."

  • How many people have general admission tickets for this show and how many of you are going to wait in line? Does anyone know where the line might start? How is it once you get inside? From looking at the SB Bowl website it looks like you'll have to run for like a mile up a huge hill. That or down a mountain of stairs which is probably worse, considering if there's a bunch of people they'll be trampling everyone and there's a good chance you'll get pushed from behind and break your neck. I guess I'm just wondering if I should even bother getting there early to wait if
    1) My ticket won't even get me near the stage
    2) The stage is over 5 ft high or 10 ft away
    3) I'll just get trampled in the mob and die before the concert even starts.
Is anyone else having these debates? What are your opinions?

  • I live in between L.A. and Santa Barbara in a town called Thousand Oaks. I would go to Santa Barbara any day over L.A. ... And In response to whoever posted the "Santa Barbara is crap" message, i have got to say.... What are you talking about.....L.A. is a prime exaple of why terrorists dont attack us here on the west coast....and why we built the A-bomb...because L.A. sucks ass...the air is brown and the place smells like shit...not to mention it is filled with people who talk out their ass...and you should be ashamed of your language "yall" and "dopest" ....if this isnt an accident, then you shouldn't be attending morrissey shows....or are you one of theose guys who does this for your girlfiend???

P.S. and if you didnt know...morrissey is from manchester england....

  • I ordered my tickets from ticketmaster the day they came out (July?), anyhow I still have not recieved them in the mail. Ticketmaster says they can arrive at mailing adress upt 48hrs before the show, cutting it kinda close! Also, if you do not recieve your tickets, you must call and have them held at will call, but you cannot do this until 48hrs before show. I guess I will just sit by my mailbox and wait until Tuesday, BS!

Anyone else having this problem with ticketmaster?

Looking forward to the show, and it is a good venue, beautiful setting and there really is not a bad seat in the house. Only problem I know of is they tend to keep the volume kinda low, hopefully they kick it up a little!

See everyone there, if my tickets arrive!
