Smash Hits - an interesting drug...

Found this in an old copy of Smash Hits I found whilst clearing out the loft! Never realised he got any press in this magazine?

What Should the Title of the Next Album Be?

"The torment of the ringleader" Deano was my favourite drummer from the past few years. Shame he left but the new guy seems to be doing okay.

Is this why Moz refused to 'do' Eurovision?

A nice bit of publicity for the ailing eurovision song contest at the end of the day......

The Observer greatest gigs: Albert Hall 2002

Personally thought the Brixton show from the same year was better. Probably one of my favourites of all time actually...

    Come Back To Camden

Never played live which is a real shame. It was a real highlight of YATQ for me and really hailed his return. I guess it's in the same vain as Dear god.... although "walking through Camden with my heart on a string" doesn't quite have the same impact!

So, Julia's the number one Moz fan worldwide but is anyone else close?

What's the prize for being the numero uno fan?! A tacky badge perhaps? I've nothing against this Julia person but doesn't she get bored with following him? I've seen him play 15 times over the past 12 years and to be honest I've got it our of my system. Definately too much of a good thing...

    Morrissey Wants An Honour

Nah, he'd have to be called Sir Steven if he got a gong. Can't see him going for that somehow.......!!

    Spring-Heeled Jim

There was a lot of talk at the time of Vauxhall & I that a certain Johnny Marr played guitar on Billy Budd. Probably due to the wah-wah effect sounding vaguely like The Queen is Dead. Not sure how much truth was in the rumour, if any!

    Morrissey in disguise

I was fairly certain that "Mr Reynolds" was Morrissey. He posted a few rare tracks on the forum and if it wasn't Morrissey as such it must have been someone from his camp.

    ROTT...Your Final Verdict?

Having given this more thought I think some of the negatives are down to the fact that the album is quite slow paced and there aren't many fast dynamic songs like there was on quarry. This was apparent with the live shows earlier on the year. Good call about Good Looking Man about town - a...

    ROTT...Your Final Verdict?

ROTT for me promised much but delivered little. The build up was good - Visconti at the helm, Moz inspired by Italy (a country I love) and a collaboration with Morricone. I wasn't sure when I first listened to it and actually turned it off before the end as it was just too disapointing for...

    Tobias Thoughts...

If ROTT had all been along the lines of Pigsty and Dear God it would have been absolutely amazing. That's the direction Moz needs to go in. More orchestration and dynamics. The likes of In the Future are b-side quality at best and are just MOR pub rock. A lot of the tracks could have quite...

Is that because what he did with Street most resembles the Smiths musically?!

    New Album?

I'm not sure what direction it would go or even what Moz has left to prove by releasing another album. Anyone know what his current record deal is? Personally I'd love it to be more Life is a pigsty and less in the vain of Boy Happy. More experimental and definately get Alain to write all the...
