NYC Hammerstein Ballroom (Sep. 17, 2020) officially postponed

Yep. Received that too. In a way, I’m happy to have the money back as I’ve been on a bit of a spending spree lately and there’s really no way to set a date for this concert (or any concert) with even a moderate degree of certainty. However, the optimistic side of me would have been fine with a...

NYC Hammerstein Ballroom (Sep. 17, 2020) officially postponed

Yup. My guess is they will try to reschedule it for next summer, at the earliest. Or it will just be cancelled.

    Venues of Morrissey

With the prospects of seeing Morrissey take the stage anytime soon being grim, post a photo of a venue where you’ve seen Morrissey live in the past. Note the location and year in your reply. Lowell Memorial Auditorium Lowell, Massachusetts USA 1997

    New York concert still up?

Morrissey will have very little say in whether this show goes forward - which it won't, in my opinion. State and local guidelines won't permit ~3,000 people to gather indoors anytime soon. The best one could hope for would be if they moved the show to some sort of outdoor space in the city...

Morrissey will never record another album?

I agree that he probably won't change his thinking, but it goes without saying that the the music industry has been turned on its head - yet again - since 2011. Whenever I buy a physical copy of any album these days (and I still do), I don't even open it. For better or for worse, it's all about...

"Maladjusted" recording sesssions (March 1997) - photo posted by Alex Black, assistant engineer

I agree. I think it's the best song on Southpaw Grammar (an album I also love, except for the extremely dull opening track) and deserved of a spot on a Top 10 list of his solo career.

What song are you listening to right now?

I'm on a Mountain Goats kick of late. I really like a lot of the full-band proper recordings. Excellent lyrics and interesting, varied music.

    Setlist if/when shows happen

Ugh. Most of those are so overdone. Almost makes me nostalgic for “I just want to see the boy happy” and “one day goobye will be farewell”.

Fiona Dodwell: "Morrissey and the Silent Majority" (June 4, 2020)

Has any other artist ever had a hired "journalist" on the payroll to put out positive press about them? Truly bizarre.

I was completely obsessed with this VHS when it came out. Great stuff.

Question about Moz re-sched NYC date

This is not true. The September 17 date was announced by The Bowery Presents in mid-March. You are correct that Ticketmaster didn’t get around to sending out an email until May, but this site and others have had the 9/17 date noted for over two months. And, if you logged into your Ticketmaster...

Official Facebook "We Shall Live To Sin Again" - Las Vegas residency postponed (May 20, 2020)

Meanwhile over on Morrissey’s blog/website, he is downplaying the entire public health situation as little more than a scam.

    Rockabilly tracks

Right. I don't hear Billy Budd at all as rockabilly. Everything else obviously has a very different vibe. Gun to my head and I had to pick one from Vauxhall that would fit on, say, a Morrissey 'rockabilly' comp, it would have to be I Am Hared For Loving.

Hated For Loving more so than Bully Budd, that's for sure if one must pick something off V&!.
