I think you are over-analysing this, writing a song like Home Is A Question Mark isn’t really proof of abuse. It’s a common theme I think alot of people can relate to/write about, not just those who suffer from abusement

I think so. Someone's urging the singer to "grow up", "come out of the closet" (or "come out of the caddy", as Victoria Wood said) and "be a cliche" instead of being himself.
