3 Smiths Albums in UK Top 100 Chart

Is this the first time we have 3 Smiths albums in the UK top 100 since the mid-90s? Has this not been posted on Central? The Sound Of The Smiths at 64, the Queen Is Dead at 95 and Hatful Of Hollow at 97.

Dries Van Noten: "record curation by Jesse Tobias" (August 23, 2023)

Lou Reed, the Kinks and Hendrix are sound choices but who picks Adventure over Marquee Moon? That's just wrong.

Virgin Radio UK: Rev Richard Coles picks his top 80s tracks; includes "Cemetry Gates" (July 21, 2023)

I know but that is the Guardian and wouldn't be too surprised if they coaxed that out of him.

Great choice from Richard and good to see he didn't resort to the standard 'Of course I don't agree with Morrissey's views blah blah blah'. He may receive an hysterical email from Dave Haslam for this though.

    Leeds - Millennium Square (July 12, 2023) post-show

Society has changed for one thing, it is not 1985 anymore, when being left wing simply meant hating Thatcher. Now if people express frustration that none of their neighbours speak English they are told they are just to the right of Goebbels.

True story, there's a few duds on Southpaw and it only has 8 tracks at that. And Southpaw is probably better than Maladjusted and Kill Uncle.

Great gig, only the 2nd time I've seen him outdoors in about 30 shows but the sound was good and the band did not disappoint. Some great banter between songs and the setlist was good, a slight lull after the first half a dozen songs but I wouldn't want a complete greatest hits set anyway...

I beg to differ, World Peace, Low In High school and IANADOAC are all better than Southpaw, Maladjusted, Kill Uncle and Years of Refusal.

    Birmingham - O2 Academy (Oct. 5, 2022) post-show

Last night was brilliant, Morrissey and band both in fine form, the setlist is wonderfully balanced, as of course it was in Doncaster last week, and I also loved the addition of Little Man What Now. The crowd seemed to be enjoying it, it was more subdued than Doncaster perhaps but I don't think...

    Doncaster - The Dome (Sep. 30, 2022) post-show

My 28th Morrissey show tonight, 31 years after I first saw him at the Doncaster Dome, I think that was the last time I saw him sing Our Frank before tonight. So many highlights to pick from, the new songs sounded great, Bonfire Of Teenagers in particular went down very well, I Am Veronica is...

Las Vegas, NV - The Colosseum at Caesars Palace (July 2, 2022) post-show

I think the Don't Look Back In Anger sentiment is for the benefit of the young kids who were there and have to live with the memory of that day. Anger is a natural emotion but it can eat you up in the long run. He is quite right in the fact that the UK media often skirts around the...

Dope Nostalgia Podcast #98: "Morrissey" (November 25, 2021)

There are those who have never liked Morrissey from day one who use the present day press hyperbole to fuel their hate, then there are those who are so woke they have to criticise anyone with a different opinion - neither one means much to me.
