1981

Love will be the biggest part of our memories /
Love will be the biggest part of our memories

Jokes and echoes from our childhood
There was always gonna be a nasty riot
I do care - please believe me, OH HONEY
this is an old, romantic comedy

'81 leaving as it passes
on the streets, theres rebellion of the masses
We should know, its not forever, at least not anymore
and there is nothing left to care for

Oh No need to call me, no need to hurt me
This is 1981
1981, 1981 - will smother you

Love will be the biggest part of our memories /
Love will be the biggest part of our memories

Songs, echoed from our childhood
There was always gonna be a nasty riot
I do care - please believe me, I CAN be funny
well yes.... ok....

Oh No need to call me, no need to hurt me
This is 1981
1981, 1981 - will smother you

Those lyrics are cool. I wish I could write lyrics. I try to sometimes but I just can't seem to get down what I am trying to say. Got any tips?

no tips from me, I also tend to fail with it
(and Im no native english speaker too, which makes it hart to be really exact with writing down your feelings)

only tip from me: start with the best (which is, of course morrssey) -> i always check, if i would like this to be sung by him, and sometimes i come close at least
2) if there is another word for the same context, use the other, maybe less known word or phrase.

thats not very helpful, Im afraid, but hey, at least we try

That is a good idea. I usually picture myself singing the lyrics and get embarrassed and end up crossing out most of what I write. Picturing Morrissey singing it would help me better judge the lyrics. Thanks!
