It's an odd one.
Radio 2 and 6 Music probably felt some kind of obligation to a-list Spent the Day in Bed.
Radio 2 because they were given the world exclusive, and 6 Music because they had the live concert.
But Absolute Radio a) was under no obligation and b) is a commercial station.
Radios 2 and 6 stopped playing the song completely a while back but Absolute continue to hammer it with three plays today.
Odder still, they're more at the rock end of the indie spectrum - The Stereophonics, Foo Fighters and Noel Gallagher top their airplay chart.
So why are they sticking with 'Spent the Day' for so long? Good feedback presumably.
The record company ought to thank them, really, e.g. with a live show.
