Are The Smiths and Morrissey among the most written about bands and artists ever?

In terms of books published surely Morrissey and The Smiths must be up there amongst the most highly documented.

I think they have a ways to go before they join the ranks of the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Elvis, the Beach Boys, etc. Not that I don't think they are worthy - because I do!

In terms of books published surely Morrissey and The Smiths must be up there amongst the most highly documented.

Post 1980 The Smiths may well be in the top 5 most written about band. But as above, all those 60's bands top them all.
I think where the Smiths / Morrissey may have one of the most written books is books by fans like meeting Morrissey, tattoo's, tour guides, thesis work, fan memoirs etc etc.

My favourite is probably 'All Men Have Secrets'' as it was written way before all the other bandwagon books mentioned above came out.
