Sydney Morning Herald - 1.5/5 stars. The reviewer must be deaf. Even the outliers, the minority reviews, give the album a 2.5 - core critical debate is is this album a C- or a B+ - highest review, also an outlier is NME's 9/10

Only fans are giving this an A-

Well, we do grade on a curve.

The review by Chris Gerard in Metro Weekly (highlighted above) is the best I've read, even better than NME, IMO. Anyway, Weird Al is beating everyone in the US which doesn't surprise me.....the average music buyer wants sounds that tickle with nonsense and have nothing to say.

WPINOYB......is one of Morrissey's best.....It's deep, humorous and sounds different and as powerful as anything by anybody......so there.

Most of the reviews are fair as there are are couple of fillers on the album. But the Barry Divola review is just pure hate being extended, It sticks out as the worst review but its so deliberate.
Reviewers with agendas shouldn't be allowed a licence to print hatred. He doesn't like Morrissey as an artist, fine, while also not admitting it directly, but at least Morrissey will say exactly what he means... Good or bad.

It was a deliberate assault. Hatred straight from the heart.
