Hi there

I'm travelling to the Berlin show from England, I just wondered if there are any meet-ups planned or if anyone knows anywhere near the Tempodrom that would be suitable to go before/after the gig?

Cheers!

Who's coming to Berlin next week? What time do you think I should be there if I want to be on the list?

Don't know how serious this is...? :

(i dont know about meet ups before the gig .....buuuut ....i have a bit of time and like to recommend my lovely town to others so...
Im sure a lot of you are queuing, and once you made the list , have a lot of time.

what i can recommend as it has been forecast to be sunny, but moderate temperatures around 21-24 degrees:
two parks in Walking distance. one :park am gleisdreieck,10 minutes just Walking down Möckernstrasse towards landwehrkanal (post a map later.)
it was a former railroad shunting Yard a Long tome ago. they have let nature took it back so it has a really nice urban atmosphere some parts are protected cause of the rare animal
and plants growing, but mostly you can can sit where you want and has also Areas for doing sports etc
http://www.publicspace.org/en/works/g047-park-am-Gleisdreieck

another park, one of my faves,is viktoriapark,20 Minute walk from tempodrom -pic in attachment
who is below park gleisdreick, who has a a waterfall coming down from the hill (66meters). ist really peaceful sitting on the Stones at the top directly at the waterfall and looking down on the City . a great place to chill .
if you want to drink there a is a biergarten on the other side: the Golgatha
or just chill at the river landwehrkanal which you see anyway when you depart from the U1/or U7 at U möckernbrücke to go to tempodrom (alternative take the S1,2 25 and depart at S anhalter Bahnhof.)
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/Tempodrom,+Möckernstraße+10,+10963+Berlin,+Deutschland/Viktoriapark,+Kreuzbergstraße,+Berlin,+Deutschland/@52.4958896,13.3739267,17z/data=!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x47a851d2a928ad33:0xaaf7e0c15fce276c!2m2!1d13.381228!2d52.501626!1m5!1m1!1s0x47a850243fdf52ef:0x82843cdc34c8fc10!2m2!1d13.3816235!2d52.4880375!3e2
a 20 minutes walk from tempodrom :towards landwehrlanal and U möckernbrücke and then all the way down down möckernstrasse or:
I recommend taking the grossbeerenstrasse right next to möckernstrasse so you can see the lovely waterfall view from way back when you walk. you see the street on the Card

for typical Berlin stuff there is checkpoint Charlie, Brandenburger tor north of tempodrom , just scroll on the Google maps Card

if you want to walk around and take in the architecure of old churches i esp like the church in the wrangelstrasse, the Liebfrauenkirche-
the "wrangelkiez "is a also a Hipster area pic of church in attachment.
also the bergmannstrasse, also a quite hipsterish area.

Google Berlin and churches and you sure find one so gorgeous you want to check it out.
also check These Berlin Blogs for Inspiration:

street Food markets http://blog.visitberlin.de/en/11212-the-ultimate-guide-to-street-food-in-berlin.html

if you scroll on the map to the right there you see the willy brandt haus http://www.willy-brandt-haus.de/ which is very near to the tempodrom.
on stresemannstrasse /wilhelmstrasse near U hallesches tor who has exhibitions for free, atm one on Israel-palestine and sony world photography,

the whole area around the U 1 subway line esp between U Warschauer strasse - U kottbusser tor is an Area where a lot of Young hip people spend their Weekends -full of bars Restaurants etc very urban and you sense the trong influence of the arbabaian/turkish Germans citzens even though hiptsers and gentrifications take over.

if you want to read there is the main library (ZLB) at hallesches tor next to poco store which also has english (and other languages) books and magazines (also Music mags. ) which you can acess. it has w lan.

of course they are Things like occupied houses who sometimes have concerts or solidarity parties which dont make the Partyalendar etc http://berlin-besetzt.de/#!id=136
the kadterschmiede is quite nice , ist the rigaer strasse 94 in friedrichhain which made local News because the Police was illegally kicking them out

I saw the after show at Teckel Bar, but I'm staying at Potsdamer Platz, as its near the venue. From my experience of his gigs (about 90) bars and pubs near the venue are better options, assuming there are some?

Could somebody please explain this mysterious list? Does it mean that when I come early in the morning and I sign this list that I can go away, return in the evening and be in the first row?? That would be cool!

not really, early in the morning you will find that there already a thousand signatories.:moneybag:

The List is a cronyism at its worst. Do your good name a favour and have nothing to do with it. You can still manage to get to the front.

Thanks for the information. I guess that is the "List of the lost" then ....

^A bit rude,no? if you didnt mean it that way ,nevermind.
well i dont know,i only queued once ,years ago. I dont know of course if thats always the case how it is handled and how crowdy /full Berlin would be(could be??) but on the Topic of "the list" :on the last german date he did i saw , neu isenburg,
i arrived in the late afternoon ,with no intention to go front, and of course it was full.not everybody ,whose Intention was to get front did sit there for 24 hous and didnt move. thats what i meant above.
some did go eat or in the park for a couple of hours. how the list works Im no expert but it seems to be theyre not glued to the venue at all times. thats that.

well to your question, lanterns,i gave you the link for parties happening in the virtual nights link.also the tip link which also incudes exhibitions and everything.
kreuzberg has many Clubs, too many to just list it just scroll.
otherwise here is a list of course it didnt list everything still. https://www.berlin.de/clubs-und-party/clubguide/a-z/
or go the Google maps link and zoom in to check out bars and Clubs near you.
from Memory:
on tuesdays at cassopeia in friedrichshain on the RAW venue left next to the S bahn warschauer strasse there is a 80ies, Retro hip hop, Club classics Party with free entry before midnight. with the U1 I estimate 15 minutes?
the sophienclub has a indie and britpop Party but i actuallyheard they re permantely closed for now,its in mitte at sophienstrasse
the K7 has a goth indie ebm Party, who regulary also has free entry before midnight on weekdays but i cant access the site right now, and cant remember the weekday when they open ,its in friedrichshain in möllendorfstrasse- k7 Berlin Club Google

i checked some of my Flyers:
on monday- i assume some of you are arriving a day before the comcert-for example: there is a Rollerskate Disco in Berlins (or even one of germany`s )most famous punk Club( a lot of legends did perform there!)called SO 36 in kreuzberg,in oranienstrasse ;U görlitzer park.

the duncker Club a famous goth Club in prenzlauer berg, has a goth Party on monday
Google the exactadress yourself. a small Admission.

i remember the bassy Club which is Rockabilly and rockn roll oriented. in Schönhauser allee 176 A.prenzlauer berg

near U Görlitzer park there also wiener strase who has a nice punk record store and there is the punk Club wild at heart.as i said there area countless Clubs esp between kottbusser tor-Warschauer strasse (which is friedrichshain already)

as with birds a real treat is the White stork in Malchow Naturhof , Dorfstraße 35, 13051 Berlin, S wartenberg.you can call if they re still there , Google the adress and youll find the telephone number.who have their nests there
http://www.berliner-woche.de/malchow/bildung/stoerche-sind-wieder-da-d98773.html
nesting Ends at mid August. not too Long before they left for africa. malchow is in Lichtenberg which is still area A/B City. also the european hare, a rare breed is seen in Lichtenberg.
the only district where they are located even though they are districts who are greener. i esp recommend köpenick(our greenest district) who has a big forest around müggelsee(our bigggest lake) and has a charming old town see pics.
as i mentioned the müggelsee. and maybe some would like to to some swimming, almost every lake in Berlin has Swimming Quality, as the müggelsee or the neighbour seeddinsee in the east.
in the west:.wannsee schlachtensee, tegeler see ,seddinsee
wannsee und schlachtensee who has also S bahn Stations with the same name , so you dont have to walk too long.,are in Zehlendorf in the west. they are one of the biggest and crowdiest. they re Countess other lakes also in the City area. some of them, check it out here. https://www.berlin.de/lageso/gesundheit/gesundheitsschutz/badegewaesser/karte/ you find the great heron and cormorant on almost every lake

I really like the gross glienicker lake and the Potsdamer sacrower lake as they are a bit off the beaten track.
and i havent been there CAUSE its mostly a nudity area;but the teufelsee in grunewald which is the other big forest next the the big one around müggelsee in Köpenick, which i like more. Im sure youll find plenty of birds in either the Köpenick forest or in grunewald .

i recommend the schöneberger südgelande park for rare birds also a former railroad shunting park. S priesterweg or S südkreuz.
some parks http://www.visitberlin.de/en/see/sightseeing/green-berlin http://www.berlindude.com/berlin-parks.html

Hi!
i will be alone at the show, i want to get there early (not too sure when) does anybody want to hang out at the front of the venue? i am not sure how the whole list thing works, but i want to be as close as possible :D

i would maybe have a look at the queue in the morning, then decide what i am going to do! i have never been to tempordom, so i am not sure where we could meet

I saw Morrissey at Columbiahalle in Berlin 2014 and started queuing at about 10 a.m. and was somewhere around places 15-20 on the list. And if you want a place in the front row I'd recommend queuing at latest around noon or soon afterwards. As for the list. Of course you can leave the queue for half an hour or an hour to eat lunch or something. But it's not like you can sign up on the list at nine, then do something else all day and come back at five and expect to still have your place in the queue.

Had to get the train
From Potsdamer Platz
You never knew that
That I could do that
Just walking the dead
Sitting in the Dschungel
On Nürnberger Strasse
A man lost in time
Near KaDeWe
Just walking the dead
Where are we now, where are we now?
The moment you know, you know, you know
Twenty thousand people
Cross Bösebrücke
Fingers are crossed
Just in case
Walking the dead
Where are we now, where are we now?

Same here. It would be Great nevertheless to get into Touch early for the latest News at the venue. I pm you later for that and give you a contact. In Addition im going to put on band-aid on my forehead and chin, so you Can recognize me.

Thx. Now Tell me a Bit more about this list Thing, pls. What exactly is this?

The first person that arrives at the venue makes a queueing list and when a new person shows up to queue he/she writes his/her name on the list and gets a place in the queue. And an hour or two before the doors open the queue is organized in the right order (at most 40-50 names). Those who haven't made the list has to join the queue behind those who has made it on the list.

Oh! Wait until I let the Manchester faithful in on that. They will tear that to buggery and Lord help anyone who tries to stop them. If that's the extent of the list and its authority then anyone who abides by it who isn't on it, well, they need their head testing. There is no list.

What complete bollocks. Wait until Saturday.
