Best ever lyric ?

I blame my mother
Morrissey is generally acclaimed to be the greatest ever lyricist but what is your personal favourite.

He obviously has many but if I had to pick it would be from 'Still Ill'

And if you must, go to work - tomorrow
Well, if I were you I wouldn't bother
For there are brighter sides to life
And I should know, because I've seen them
But not very often ...

Possibly not everybody's first choice but,

"Sweetie-pie, I'm ending my life
because I've fallen in love
and enough is enough."

I dreamt about you last night
And I fell out of bed twice
You can pin and mount me like a butterfly
But "take me to the haven of your bed"
Was something that you never said
Two lumps, please
You're the bee's knees,
But so am I

I'd be inclined to agree with this.

Another would be:

Why pamper life's complexities
When the leather runs smooth on the passengers seat

So simple, so effective.

There are way too many to choose from though...

I said Charles, don't you ever crave
To appear on the front of the Daily Mail
Dressed in your Mother's bridal veil ?
Oh ...
And so, I checked all the registered historical facts
And I was shocked into shame to discover
How I'm the 18th pale descendant
Of some old queen or other

I could have been wild and I could have been free
But nature played this trick on me
She wants it now and she will not wait
but she's too rough and I'm too delicate

There's literally dozens of others, but I've always loved this example.

Young girl runs crying through the park
So freely her Daddy berates her
And now, so for the rest of her life
She is convinced that her Daddy hates her

Dressed in your Mother's bridal veil ?

And so, I checked all the registered historical facts
And I was shocked into shame to discover
How I'm the 18th pale descendant
Of some old queen or other
Just the whole of that song really.

I am a poor, freezingly cold soul
So far from where I intended to go

Because of my poor education
I don't expect your invitation
a ship lost inches away from the bay
Because of my poor education
I can't endure my situation
this here is my bed and I must lie

Because of this strange indentation
I live my life without affection
kind-hearted view me and say:
"thank God that's not me..."

Once I was sure I had found my hero
and I allowed myself to think so
reality is not real to me

Oom-Pah-Pah, Oom-Pah-Pah
That's how it goes...

Oh wait, you mean Morrissey lyrics?
