Compile a Best Of Latter-Day Morrissey Collection

Ah, well... I don't know if "superior" knowledge is the right expression, I just tend to be an insufferable smart ass.
Anyway, nice compilation!

No, that's fine, 'smart-ass'/pedant is fine too, thanks for pointing out...problem I had was, on my spreadsheet, I have the albums in columns by date, so I chose those two erroneous tracks because they appeared under Maladjusted Re-Issue 2009, which is my preferred Maladjusted version. In my haste though, I failed to cross check against the '97 version & the date of the song writing. Sort of forgivable, but not quite.

The added tracks on the re-issues are usually b-sides or unreleased songs from the respective album eras, but there are some rather weird exceptions. Fantastic Bird on the Southpaw re-issue comes to mind, which was in fact recorded around Your Arsenal.

Most people who I have heard saying that everything from Quarry onwards has been poor (both on and off this site) are generally people who blame him for the end of The Smiths and have never given his solo career much of a chance.

The "Morrissey is such a racist, Johnny Marr was the talent anyway" brigade.

I've always found it fascinating how Morrissey comes back in 2004 with the most commercially successful album and set of singles of his career, embarks on a wildly popular tour and yet there's the same old faces trying to play it down.

Think "Morrissey has been shit since 2004" has got to be a pretty niche viewpoint. I'm sure there are some out there, but there can't be huge numbers who think that Quarry and Ringleader are terrible albums, whereas Maladjusted is brilliant.

Something like that. I've liked all his post 2004 albums apart from low in high school, that was a pretty weak album for me.
