Damon Albarn on Morrissey's politics - NME

Damon Albarn on Morrissey’s support of For Britain: “If you don’t live in the country, then you shouldn’t be dabbling in its politics” - NME

Excerpt:

Now, Blur frontman Damon Albarn has had his say on the matter, speaking to Jordan Bassett during an NME interview with The Good, The Bad And The Queen.

“Steven is a complicated soul,” started Albarn, before bandmate and former Clash bassist Paul Simonon asked, “But does he live in England?”

“No, he lives in California,” replied Albarn. “He doesn’t care. He’s just doing it to wind people up.”

Simonon then argued that Morrissey’s time living abroad gave him a warped perception of how life really is in the UK.

“Sometimes if you are away and you don’t live in the country, then you’ve got a misconception of what the reality is from the ground up,” he said. “It’s the same as John Lydon – he’s sort of got to a certain level and he’s [entitled] to his views, but if you don’t live here, your vision of it is in a bubble.”

Albarn then added: “Yeah, I totally agree. You shouldn’t even have an opinion. If you don’t live in the country, then you shouldn’t be dabbling in its politics because to have the sensitivity to understand, you have to live amongst the emotional world of the people as well, not just the idea of something. That’s a long way from reality.

“So I think if you wanna be miserable and English, you’ve gotta be miserable and English. You know – really be it.”

doh:

right, because if you do all that saluting and goosestepping, and wearing Nazi paraphernalia with swastikas on them you are sure NOT to be a Nazi. Or if you name your band not once but twice for Nazi propaganda.
:lbf:

just in case the comedy thing doesnt work out, I hear they are hiring at Kmart.

Morrissey is a class traitor because he is a tax exile and because he supports a political party whose policies are all about attacking the working class for the benefit of the wealthy.

He's presumably paying his taxes in California, which at a state-level at least, is 100% going back to the woke brigade. So its all good there. :)

What is the party of the rich? Multinational corporation rich? Independent small-business owner rich? A family with a small farm rich? The wrong kind of rich stand to profit a great deal from globalist policies. There are practical, local considerations (one of the reasons for the Brexit referendum, I believe).

If we vote with our feelings against "the rich" generically, we might have one big shithole to look forward to.

Wayne Hennessy springs to mind. He was cleared as he had no idea what a Nazi salute was.

American was doing those salutes before the Nazis. It was called the Bellamy Salute

OK, so because Morrissey chooses not to be a walking stereotype, he's a traitor to his class. This is really dumb.

Would you call a black person an Uncle Tom for not speaking in ghetto slang?

What about all the British musicians who sing in American accents? Are they traitors to their country?
British musicians who sing in US accents are twats. As are non US people who say AWESOME! and pronounce Tuesday as Twosday, or say 'I'm all set". They can f*** right off the cliff at Beachy Head in a wardrobe.

This is what happens with mass immigration. They come in, vote each other into power then try to usurp the country
Omar (Who married her own brother) "Whites" are the biggest threat in America"

That's the good hate we are supposed to accept. I wonder how these people are wired and I refuse to believe it is just them as some kind of organisation pays them.

Greta Thunberg is funded and we now know who funds her and same with those four crazy women who for some reason are still allowed to be on american soil.

If America loses the war against those women everything americans fought for will be lost forever. But maybe americans of old do not exist as they look to Europe and Sweden in particular and see that there is a way to live off the state and do nothing.

Those people all want that but the country is too big for it to ever work and work is the key word.

Damon Albarn does not analize for a second the reason why Morrissey lives outside the country.
You've gone from a flaming leftie to a right wing queen in no time. I bet you realise now your old far right rulers were right even if it took torture in basements to uphold.

Socialism and communism has no faith in the individual and in fact hate them. Centralize everything from homes to factories and hospitals.

Stores with no food that the fat lady behind the counter ate before they opened.

The romans were first though and Paolo DiCanio celebrated scoring a goal with it.

If you play for Nazio in Rome those things comes naturally. The swedish manager Sven-Göran Eriksson said during his time as Lazio manager that the club needs to sign black players to root it out.

Breivik did the roman salute at first then changed it to the traditional nazi one.

I asked him why in prison but he never gave me an answer that made sense.

It's because he was bald by then and he was imitating the head slapping comedy routine that Benny Hill used to do on his show with his old bald sidekick Jackie Wright.

People thought Brevik was doing a Nazi salute but these things can be so easily misconstrued in pictures; the same thing happened to Bowie in the mid-70s.

This is the video of the NME interview.

It is interesting to hear Damon Albarn and Paul Simonon speak about these issues and not have anyone take it out of context.
