Drift Records Totnes on Record Store Day and Morrissey

The hatred for Steve Morrissey in tbe indie World is phenomenal. If the indie world turned on gary Barlow or edward sheeran it wouldn't really matter.but the problem for Steve is that the indie world is pretty much his entire world. Maybe it's time for him to formally retract his support for far right political groups, and rue the day he idiotically chose to publicly endorse them in the first place. Possibly, the single most foolish thing a pop star has ever done.
It's called jealousy that's all because their tunes aren't up to scratch, the far right party thing though yes

Morrissey will never back down to the bullshit brigade, they're a pathetic bunch that have failed miserably to derail his career, do you really think he's gona bow down to that lot? He doesn't want them back onside and neither do the fans.

Let them do as they wish, private business and all that, it’s a slippery slope to go down considering you could well be called up to answer for why you don’t stock “artist X” who said etc but still stock “artist y” who did etc but if that’s what they want, fair enough!

it is trendy to hate Morrissey, largely down to his own personal decisions so I don’t think any of us have the right to be too appalled at Drift Records stance, aside from the fact it is added on in writing as though they won’t admit that mention of Morrissey’s name, omission or otherwise, generates some discussion and discourse still. In a sense they are still making profit from him in some way, which to me just feels a little childish.
If you don’t like him, don’t write about him!
