Let them do as they wish, private business and all that, it’s a slippery slope to go down considering you could well be called up to answer for why you don’t stock “artist X” who said etc but still stock “artist y” who did etc but if that’s what they want, fair enough!
it is trendy to hate Morrissey, largely down to his own personal decisions so I don’t think any of us have the right to be too appalled at Drift Records stance, aside from the fact it is added on in writing as though they won’t admit that mention of Morrissey’s name, omission or otherwise, generates some discussion and discourse still. In a sense they are still making profit from him in some way, which to me just feels a little childish.
If you don’t like him, don’t write about him!
