George Michael lets us in on a secret

Wake me up, before George goes NUTS! Is the Jack H good in North London, one wonders?

I will never, ever give up hope. Never. It's the holy grail. The great unwalked landscape. I mean it, I really, really mean it - I would happily die the day after seeing it happen.

P.
Would you expect a reunion to be musically successful or would it simply be the spectacle of seeing them all together again?

I don't care if it's successful or not. The joy of the occasion would be enough. It will be the hottest ticket ever. One gig would be enough.

Stop bothering yourselves with what Moz does with his Dick. Y A W N.

I don't want a reunion in any way, shape or form. It took me a few years to stop grinding my teeth at gigs where Morrissey would perform Smiths songs (and in recent years he has done way too many for my taste). I'll always love The Smiths, but I pay to see Morrissey — I feel like those songs are taking up the space that a great Morrissey song could use. My $.02 — that's all.

Its a joke...but George Michael is on the inside of things, as I remember a story of Bernard and Johnny playing the unreleased second Electronic album at some club, and he asked to listen to it twice (he must've been really high).

In which interview Morrissey said that he didn't like Johnny Marr?

I don't remember reading such remarks.

It was a British TV interview. I don't remember the specific one but it was just a passing comment and he giggled as he said it. They didn't focus on it for more than 2 seconds.

I know what you mean. Id kill to hear songs like Boxers or Lost.

Morrissey doesn't need the other three Smiths. He has shown with WPINOYB that he is capable of creating a great album with his current collaborators. To reform the Smiths would be a step back and a step down for Moz. This is coming from huge Smiths fan.

Btw, Wham! sucks. And George Michael is a tosser.

Re: George Michael lets us in on a secret...

Oh, so George Michael never got sick on tour?

What is the closest you've come to death?
Pneumonia during my Symphonica tour in Vienna.

It's hard to love. There's so much to hate. Hanging on to hope, when there is no hope to speak of.

If George Michael is on vocals, there's a better chance of the show going on.

He's no intellectual giant is George Michael. When ever this question gets asked, What is your favourite book?
That's an impossible question to answer.
With that answer you know that they are not a reader.

Morrissey and Joyce together. Not a hope in hell.

Well yeah, he has never been seen as some kind of great intellectual.

A Morrissey/Marr studio collaboration might be interesting, particularly if Morrissey rediscovered his lyrical bite, but the full band together again live? It would only be for the money, and couldn't recapture that moment in time when they were at their peak.

I fear it would be like the Pistols reunion a few years ago. A small to middling media scrum, fun for those attending, a paradise for the touts, but ultimately something that diminished the legend rather than added to it, and all the while vaguely embarrassing.

That's not to say I'm against reunions on principle. I was pleased when the Pixies got back together, not because I wanted to see them again, but because I thought they deserved the rewards that eluded them the first time around.

I went to see the Monty Python reunion a few weeks back. It was pretty cool, but left a slightly nebulous feeling of emptiness. Fun but sad. Celebratory but cynical. Good but sort of not.

I totally agree with you about this.

Re: George Michael lets us in on a secret...

To me Morrissey will always be a heterosexual, because that's the context of how I first listened to The Smiths as a kid. I was into girls and from his songs I assumed he was too. That was my understanding of his songs and I still carry it with me today in my memories of listening to those amazing songs. He has changed for the worse over the years so what he wrote in his Autobiography (which I will never read) is irrelevant to me. But as for George Michael, unlike Moz he never had any talent to lose. He was shit from the very beginning. Comparing Wham to Smiths is just plain preposterous

He never said he doesn't like the ladies.

This was just sent to me yesterday coincidentally. Not talking about his music (necessarily) but amusing none the less to hear his answer about erotic music.
(the gesture he makes from 0:12- 0:15, love it)

George M has NEVER read a book in his life IMO, hence the evasive answer to ?

How did this turn into yet another thread about his sexuality? He's not straight.
