I like this one.
Thanks. Although, I was going to go back and add that the compilation are the songs I like to listen to the most. I'm not suggesting that these are his best songs, merely the ones I always enjoy.
Depending on my mood, I'd be open to swapping tracks out with my other favorites: Cemetry Gates, Reel Around the Fountain (the Best of the Smiths version), and The Headmaster Ritual.
Also, on the original list as on many of my mixed Cd creations, I invariably start all my Smith's compilations with either: Rush and a Push, or The Queen is Dead. So, on my original list with the Queen is Dead wedged in as the 8th track, I'd opt for the harder to find version which omits the "Dear old blighty..." portion which begins the classic version in favor of what I believe was an official radio edit of The Queen is Dead. It helps the flow of the compilation.
I also like ending all my Smith's compilations with Paint a Vulgar Picture, in much the same way I tend to end all my Morrissey compilations with Speedway. To me they are wonderful album enders.
Cheers,
V
