...after Newsnight with Jeremy Paxman, this week BBC2 have been screening a series on Salford and all its troubles. Today's topic was employment and what schemes there are for getting Shane and his mates into some job or another. And I don't think it's all about 'any job at any price'. Hilariously today we saw a police officer driving round confiscating drink in Spar carrier bags from 14 yearolds saying "I'll be round your house to tell your Mum".
What these kids need is a role model - someone who has striven and dragged themselves out of the gutter to make something of themselves - who has bought a house and a Porsche. We can't think of anyone at the moment, but does anyone else have any ideas of whose picture to put on billboards all round Salford?
