Hi,

I got this message from Andy Rourke's MySpace page:

Busking World Record 13-010-07

Hi all,

Just thought I'd drop you all a line to say that we are doing a world record busking event.
Come down and join us if you can - we are using this to draw attention to the second Versus Cancer gig ( 30-03-07). Another great line-up.
If you're up for actually busking - please contact the office on [email protected]
Or come down - drop some change in the guitar case!

Cheers - Ax

What does the word "Busking" mean? Raise money? Charity? Let me know please. :)

it's when you play/sing in the street for money :)

Busking is the practice of doing live performances in public places to entertain people, usually to solicit donations and tips. Those engaging in this practice are called buskers. Busking is a British term used in many areas of the English-speaking world. In the United States the term busking is almost unknown, buskers in the USA are called street performers or street musicians.

They are everywhere on the London Underground, some of them are really good though.
my friend used to do it too, he is now with a band called Scanners.

That's pretty cool, I will have to see if I can find any material, what genre are they?
kind of indie rock, i suppose. they have a myspace page.

Scanners are great - I've seen them a few times is Matt your mate?
matt is a good guy... lovely infact... yes he is in a circle of friends. don't see him much but when we do we have a laugh:)

Nice one - they're a friendly lot. Their album is excellent.
