Is Morrissey a Member of an English Fascist Party?

Hello,
I, no longer that 10 minutes ago, told someone I just bought a concert ticket for Morrissey. He replied, "Do you mean the singer who is a member of a English fascist party?" I was stunned. He was a Smiths fan, but broke from Morrissey when he became a member. I, of course, did not believe him.
Has anyone heard anything about this? I'm a little shocked. Please fill me in (with out denouncing this person; I'm just looking for an explanation either way).

Morrissey fled England and he's not facsist (at least not in the strictest form of the word) so I guess it was a joke.

He's fascist in a less strict sense?
