I love the recommendations I've got from this forum but I'm not so sure that many people check out new songs/bands. How about this for an idea: The first person recommends a song, then the next person gives their opinion of it and recommends another song. That make sense? I'm really looking forward to hearing your choices. Have fun! Here's mine.....

Something New by Tigs. You can here it here: http://www.last.fm/music/Tigs/_/SOMETHING+NEW

ok, I like this. The music is a little slick, but reminds me of One Way Or Another, and the singer reminds me of Chrissie Hynde.

of course that says more about me than about this song.

I like it. Never heard of them before. Nice sound

cossy

Yeah, I quite liked that. I'd definitely like to hear more of Tegan & sara. Anyone called Tegan is OK in my book. Good choice!

Here's my next one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAS9UbmU3sE

Oh, I like it! :D The video is funny. It kind of reminds me of 'Funny Little Frog' by Belle and Sebastian, but that's probably just me. :o I think the vocals might have to grow on me, though.

Now, my choice:

I love this band, I've been forcing them on people for months, so I want to hear opinions :p

See I love Paris is Burning but my favorite track of hers is either Now Now or Landmines. And I really like those tracks.

Sadly no audio on my work computer so I can't play along yet, but I did want to reiterate St. Vincent's greatness. There's a major shortage of female singers in my music collection so I'm always on the lookout for ones that interest me, and Marry Me is probably the best female-sang album I've heard in a long time (along with Fiona Apple's Extraordinary Machine and Joan As Police Woman's Real Life). The music is weird and wonderful, and her voice is gorgeously expressive.

And Bricolage are simply excellent!! thanks for this one.

These were all tolerable, although they seem to me more like background music, a bit light for my tastes. i liked supersuperjet best.

And heres' my recommendation, one of my favorite songs of ALL TIME...

The Ramones- "Bonzo Goes To Bitburg"
