Once I Saw is a good shout. Feels like a real future classic.
Yes, definitely. In many ways it’s classic Moz, but ultimately feels new both lyrically and musically. And such a well composed song and lyric at that, in a way that’s sadly not that common for Moz anymore.

Classic, or Masterpiece?

classic is a perfect and/or early example of a particular style while masterpiece is a piece of work that has been given much critical praise, especially one that is considered the greatest work of a person's career. I think of a masterpiece as one that soars above the other great works Moz has given us.

Classic, Masterpiece, or simply a damn good song that you can’t (and don’t want to) get out of your head ?

It is a fine line.

Maybe there’s already been a poll or thread where folks are asked to list ten
Moz/Smiths songs that they can’t live without ?

Not an easy task.

I didn’t really think in terms of the thesaurus definitions. But yeah, one that soars above many others feel like a reasonable estimation. For truly great artists, there tends to be many songs that fit that description.

I think I might have started that one, or something similar,...but it was deemed too difficult a task...which it actually is.
