It's rare these days to see a hyper-literate artist succeed as an over-the-top entertainer.
His band is top-notch.

Morrissey Announces Rescheduled Tour Dates
Including Additional Cities

After nine shows in the Northeast this fall, Morrissey will continue his North American tour beginning in Greenvale, Long Island, NY, on January 9th and ending in Portland, Ore., on March 8th. The 32-city tour includes a date at the Staples Center with special guests Patti Smith and her band, as well as his first performance at Brooklyn Academy of Music in NYC. I suggest anyone call/email ticketmaster if you purchased tickets for Staples Center and you paid the extra premium price because of the inclusion of Iggy and the Stooges (who are NOT on the rescheduled bill). Maybe partial refunds?

Although it states the obvious, I like the quote "It's rare these days to see a hyper-literate artist succeed as an over-the-top entertainer."
It's not rare -- it doesn't exist.
Britpop leaders (though the later two never intended to be said) Blur, Pulp and Suede were the last time it was attempted successfully with fans that remain to this day.
If there have been any acts since that era even worth mentioning, I'd love to hear it.

I don't think it's necessarily the venue (although it is beautiful) but the fact that it's his first appearance in Brooklyn.

Honest question...why is it noteworthy that he's playing the Brooklyn Academy of Music? Never heard of it. :o

Thanks, sweetness.

You should absolutely take your son to see him at the Cosmopolitan. The venue is beautiful, the sound is awesome and the staff is the best. They bought us cheese pizza last year.

The Chelsea Ballroom is a big, flat room. While the stage is ginormously wide which allows more opportunity for non-barrier-hoarder-regulars to have a chance to grab a handshake, the venue isn't the best for seeing a Moz show if you're a tiny person. The floor does't slope like pretty much every other venue even with general admission tickets. The casino downstairs and it's bars are pretty flipping amazing.

Band top notch? Seriously, they are horrible. I can't sleep at night knowing the greatest singer in the World has such a bunch of hacks supporting him. The only person worth mentioning is Boz and he does not even try anymore.

Got that right, pal.

The elimination of Jesse Tobias alone would improve the band exponentially.

He's the worst thing to happen to Morrissey.......Ever.

Thanks for the info. I'm looking forward to this. But is this venue an all seated venue?

I'm trying to go to the Reading, PA one. I'm hoping for front row or as close as possible. Should I go through ticketmaster?

I dunno, but the BAM webpage is one of the most annoying I have ever encountered! Navigation is tedious.

I've got two tickets available for the Chicago show if anyone is interested. Can't make it again as I'm from the UK. Main floor Aisle 7, Row D. PM me if you're interested.

you know you can just ask for a refund and ticketmaster will give it to you? I just did for a show I can't attend and it was a breeze..

You know, if he had scheduled Austin on the 11th, that would have been really sweet because I would have seen him TWICE in the same week. I know his heart will go on, but I really do hate living in the middle of nowhere. Why can't I live in a normal city like normal people?
