Morrissey Central: "Andrew Yang" (December 7, 2019)

It's not wrong. So, I can only assume you've never seen any relevant research.
Last time I posted scientific evidence you curled up and turned into a toddler. No point in arguing with you anywhere but in bed.

Christmas in Sweden with me?

Scottish accent is so cute. I just wanna listen to you all day.

Oh, it's you. Is it always you??? (I suspect we have different standards for evidence).

That's really not true. There are some gruesome Islamist activists kicking about & the public has clearly run out of patience with the 'we will not be divided' slogan (which was designed to deescalate tensions & is not a reflection of anti-terrorism policy)... but most muslims have the same concerns as everyone else & their votes are not a deciding factor in what we say about Islam. Denouncing world faiths is not normal politics. Only pariah states would do it.

There's probably a need to rethink niche & diversity marketing. It's causing one headache after another with almost every group thinking it's being hard done by. I had a meeting where a director in his 20s said he felt white men didn't have a right to speak any more (his Twitter is pure SJW) & then he started crying because he thought he'd just ruined his career by saying it out loud, while I sat there regretting my life choices.

It's a pit.
You say "most Muslims have the same concerns as everyone else" - but most mosques in Britain are non-moderate. This means most mosque-going Muslims have very different views and outlooks to you and I and in fact view us as the infidel enemy.

I understand that everyone has the same basic concerns in life regarding practical day to day living such as putting food on the table, getting to work, getting the kids to school etc - but saying that most Muslims are just the same as everyone else is clearly make-believe.

If most mosque-going Muslims are conservative or extremist - which is a fact in the UK - then their values and way of looking at the world are incompatible with the liberalism of the west. There is no doubt that when their numbers grow we will see them attempting to impose their will on the non-Muslims around them.

Like anyone else I wish this was not the case, but brushing off the reality with a hope that "all will be well in the end" and "there's nothing to worry about" makes you sound like a spinning politician.

Does anyone in Labour actually acknowledge the discontent amongst some people about the levels of immigration or do they just want to bury their heads in the sand?
Labour don't acknowledge it at all, while the Tories pretend they will do something about it. But coming from a party that under David Cameron's first year let in the record level of 650,000 migrants when they'd promised to actually cut it, it's not to be believed. These people think they can lie again and again. In his campaign I don't think Boris is coming over as even remotely genuine.

Some people are voting Tory to "get Brexit done" but even Boris admits it can only happen if his deal is voted through Parliament and we all know the record on that.

I know some people who are voting Labour just to piss off the Tories, and some lefties voting Lib Dem because Corbyn isn't to their taste.

A lot of people are abstaining because they're sick and tired of the lot of them.

It's going to be an interesting election.

It is always me that lurks inside that heart of yours. I stay there like a hummingbird.

Different standards for sure since you won't even study the ones available but that's ok cause the love we have is stronger than anything.

If Boris wins and Labour and the others do vote down the deal again...he should do an Oliver Cromwell, bring the troops in and rule as a dictator.

Obviously, you don't believe me. But I'm telling you what I know, based on all the research we have to do. We're not being engulfed in Islamist fanatics. Most of them, like most Catholics, are happy to go along with the majority in our Protestant/secular union.

How could you miss our immigration mug debacle???? I still get emails about that. We absolutely acknowledge the issue. Not that we have a concrete strategy, but still....

Don't really fancy a civil war some day.

That sounds like huge denial to me. How many more terrorist incidents will it take for Labour to change tune? 10? 50? 100?

We don't need to change tune. Harassing your average Muslim isn't going to help, anymore than harassing your average Irish person helped The Troubles. It's the kind of cheap tactic that might go down well with the public (if it's in vengeful mood) but which does nothing to resolve the underlying tensions & often increases them.

I will harass you until you say I will (marry me). I can remove all that tension inside you with my special tricks.

Underlying means me on top or what?

Hope so.

Don't really fancy a civil war some day.

You won't get a civil war, the conditions aren't right & I doubt they ever will be. If you're interested in the subject, the best text book on my course was 'Understanding Ethnic Conflict' by Roger D. Petersen. It covers the breakup of Yugoslavia.

Who mentioned harassing anyone? o_O I'm talking about instigating sensible political policies.

Most policies are pretty sensible. The rise of online indoctrination threw everyone. It's taking a while to know how best to counter it. Not just for terrorism, but things like proana.

He mostly is left-wing, but he's panicking about conservative Islam taking over Europe. It won't, so it's embarrassing. But he is part of a minority who would suffer if it did, so it's not as unforgivable as a majority hating on a minority.

My point is that his views om immigration are different when it comes to the US than when UK / Europe are concerned. Well, US mostly get immigrants from Central America. These communities adore his music and he also has Latino friends (Jesse, Mando, Gustavo). Such personal connections can help to develop a more positive attitude to migration.

But as you pointed out, he believes in the Islamic conspiracy against our cultures, and the clash of civilisations between Christians and Muslims. He's been reading too much stuff on Breitbart. And I doubt that he has friends within the migrant communities of the UK. He doesn't seem comfortable with the transformation of British cities, and pines for the old days. I guess that he can't adapt himself to a fast changing world as he gets older.

You don't have to read Breitbart to recognize what's happening in the world. Either you acknowledge it and do something about it or you prefer to light candles and pray for the dead. "He doesn't seem comfortable with the transformation of British cities, and pines for the old days"..........you mean like millions of other Britons? You sound like Billy Bragg........."can't be pining for them old days of social cohesion........this is the future.......even if you don't like it.......we'll make you like it"

I think his nostalgia for the past & his fear about Islamism are two different things that have got conflated in his press coverage - terrorism didn't seem to bother him until the Orlando shooting. A gay nightclub might have been too close to the bone & if he clicked on one right-wing thing he'd quickly get caught up in the algorithm.

The 'German refugee rape crisis' meme was going through feminist groups to the point someone had to fact check & debunk it.

I fell out with Billy Bragg over the redevelopment of the Southbank Centre, so he's not THAT socialist.*

*but I'm not bitter.

(it wasn't the Barbican)
