Morrissey not vegan?

Yes, I do. But I have a friend who is intolerant- no celiac in the blood work but gets sick when he tried to eat it. Boy has he tried, and was diagnosed as intolerant by a gastroenterologist.

I don't understand why you are so nasty.

He may be intolerant to the carbohydrates--not the gluten--as new studies have suggested. I am intolerant to lactose--milk sugar. As are many.

Is a Gluten-Free Diet Really Helpful?

I am not being nasty. Just telling it like I see it--from consensus reality.

The guidelines here are like the US Constitution. Meant to be interpreted and flexible. Dynamic. Not static.

You can always bend rules a bit, but if the guidelines say that moderators won't publish abusive posts, and in reality it's the moderators who give the most abuse, that's a bit much. If the rule is "no running or you'll be stopped by security" and then it's mostly security who runs... I seriously question people's sanity. It's not that the guidelines here are sometimes violated in cases that are debatable. In fact, guidelines and reality are opposites.

Who decides what is abusive? What is offensive to you may not be offensive to the mods or administrator. I have never seen a moderator or David abuse or stalk or troll or harass anyone on these forums. UncleSkinny is allowed to dish back what has been served to him. He doesn't need to be held to higher standards than the rest of us.

I think the guidelines work pretty well.

We live on different planets.

I have a friend whose son has been going through the testing/bloodwork for four years now. He's been poked, prodded, allergy-tested, x-rayed, MRId, etc. (by numerous experts and specialists...they even tried alternative means of treatment for him) and no one can pinpoint why his body does what it does when he eats certain things. There's no disease/disorder for what he has and the docs can't figure out what causes his issues, but he gets ill the second he eats gluten, dairy and/or soy. He's so tiny and it's been difficult on the whole family as they've gone through the trials. They're hoping he grows out of it, but his list of foods is very short. This kind of thing definitely happens. I feel for your buddy. It's nothing fun.

Could be the sugars he cannot digest. See if they have ruled that out.
