Re: Morrissey: Say YES to human rights, No to apartheid Arab world

Stop with the crap, will you? Arab babies born IN the state of Israel have full citizenship, exactly like Jews and Christians. Those "Palestinians babies" are not full citizens because they weren't born in Israel. Simple as that. Why should they get full citizenship??? they are free to have full citizenship in the 1001 countries the Arabs took in their occupations, along the hundreds of years of ethnic cleansing they've done to any one who is not a Muslim or an Arab.
Is Israel to be blame for the current state of Egypt? Ask the Copts who are the REAL Egyptians and were occupied by the Arabs and till to this day suffer from the hands of the Muslims, the real colonists.. how about Syria? Hundreds of children are murdered there brutally by both Assad's regime AND the opposition ... how about in Turkey, where Arduan bombs his own citizens, many Kurd villages without the UN saying a word.
Muslims occupy everything that moves, even their own poor women. So don't bullshit with humanity, 'cause the Arabs and Muslims are the last of all people to cry about justice and rights. They are bloody hypocrites. Literally.

Such racist tripe. Rights apply to people as individuals not because of ethnicity or rights. What happens in Turkey or Syria is immaterial to the rights of the Palestenians. You think its okay to setup a nation that expressly excludes the rights of the indigenous people living there, the Palestenians, because another group of people who share their religion or ethnicity did something somewhere else?

How lame is that? Das racist.

The Jewish babies born in the settlements weren't born in Israel either but they do get full rights in Israel. Why? what the difference between them and the Palestenians born next door?

Its not complicated - there is 1 state. Israel controls it all and gives rights to people based on their religion and ethnicity. This is how its always been. It was a plan to create a 'jewish' state in what was Palestine - and they always intended to exclude the indigenous people who were living there. the palestenians. the non-jews.

Its plain old take the land and get rid of the nativies'. thing is 2012, people should know better.

I got to say something...
I live in Israel, I love music, I don't hate anyone and politics = my ass.
And there are many people like me, here. Don't believe what you read. It is only the governments, people are the same everywhere, we are just want to live.
So why Morrisset should say No to us?

BDS, It aint a personal attack on you. Its a sign of support for Justice & equality - not only do Palestenians support BDS but so do many Israelis.

Please Morrissey, reconsider your gig in apartheid Israel. The Israeli regime admits openly that it uses all culture as propaganda. Do you really want to be used to musicwash crimes against humanity?

Hey Morrissey:

We are for the individual Arab and Jewish person, so long as they are individuals and not agendized into political, or religious insanity! That means no harming people and animals, or our planet Earth! So, if Canada and Australia get no Morrissey shows, for cruelty to animals, then no shows for Israel too, for mistreating Palestnian people.
Sad, but fair is fair. Then again, life's not fair! Yes, it would be hard to deny Isreal for political reasons. That subject will be the hot-potato forever! Then again, America abuses people and you came here! Hmmmmm...
Thanks Morrissey for being king of the ideal world, the way it should be. "End war now"

Re: Morrissey: Say YES to human rights, No to apartheid Arab world

The cultural boycott doesn't aim at the Israeli public, but at the government and its musicwash of its crimes. Just watch the photo of Netanyahu with Madonna...
Israel has stated repeatedly that they use culture for Hasbara [propaganda].

However, it is naive to imply that the ethnic cleansing and apartheid are just government policy and the Israeli public is against it.
We, as Israelis, benefit from the stolen land and resources. I grew up on stolen land.
When I found out about the Nakba, I was horrified. I shared what I discovered with my friends, but not a single one of them was outraged. To my dismay I realised they were all racists with different shades and intensity. Not one of them accepted that the Palestinians should have their right, as refugees, to return. My childhood friends were all happy to continue to live on the stolen land while Palestinians were forced into deprivation because of Israel.

Need I say how many Israelis actively facilitate the Israeli crimes against the Palestinians? I left Israel because I was disgusted that so many were directly involved and even more were complicit. I guess such a high proportion is not completely out of character for colonialists, but it was too much to bear and I was longing for a society in which there are more than a handful who are outraged by racism.

Yael Kahn
First of all , lie number 1 - HASBARA doesn't mean propaganda in Hebrew . It means to explain, hence explaining FACTS.
And now a fact - The cultural boycott doesn't aim just against the Israeli government, it boycotts both Israelis and Jews, which is nothing new in the Arab world as even before the creation of the state of Israel , the Arab league loved that weapon (one out of many) against Jews :On December 2, 1945, the Arab League Council declared a formal boycott to any Jewish owned business operating in Mandatory Palestine: "Jewish products and manufactured goods shall be considered undesirable to the Arab countries." All Arab "institutions, organizations, merchants, commission agents and individuals" were called upon "to refuse to deal in, distribute, or consume Zionist products or manufactured goods."
Hmmm a boycott long before the creation of Israel and the Nakba....

Don't speak as "we as Israelis" , speak for yourself only as you're clearly a self-hating Jew trying to lose your identity on the expense of wiping the Jewish nation.
You're nuts, there is no policy of ethnic cleansing or an apartheid. It's a brutal lie.
Stolen land??? there is an undeniable historical connection between the Jewish people and the land. The Jews were expelled from the land 2,000 years ago by the Roman Empire, but a small core minority always inhabited the land of Israel. Your hatred for Judaism has blinded your mind completely. The whole world is a stolen land and occupied :America, Australia, Europe, Africa. The Jews have more right and legitimacy for their place in Israel than most countries in the world especially more than the Arab/European colonists.
Crimes against the Palestinians? you should blame the Arab leaders for that. How convenient that until 67 when the West Bank and Gaza were under Jordan's and Egypt regime respectively, there was no cry for the creation of a Palestinian state.

Nakba? It was tragic how 700,000 Palestinians left their homeland in 48'(it should be pointed out that a progress report of the United Nations Mediator on Palestine, Submitted to the Secretary-General for Transmission to the Members of the United Nations, General Assembly Official Records in September 1948 claimed the refugee number was actually 472,000) . However, the term of "refugee" has a very different meaning, in the context of the Palestinian problem, to the normal international law for refugees created in 1951 by UNCHR. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), which was established prior to the 1951 convention in response to the humanitarian crisis, applied the following definition:

"Under UNRWA's operational definition, Palestine refugees are persons whose normal place of residence was Palestine between June 1946 and May 1948, who lost both their homes and means of livelihood as a result of the 1948 Arab-Israeli conflict. UNRWA's services are available to all those living in its area of operations who meet this definition, who are registered with the Agency and who need assistance. UNRWA's definition of a refugee also covers the descendants of persons who became refugees in 1948."

That means that any Arab who came to live in the British Mandate of Palestine just for two years is considered a Palestinian refugee! why was the date June 1946 selected in the UNRWA law? Because in 28-29 May 1946, the first Arab summit in Alexandria claimed that the Palestinian issue is a common Arab issue and that Jewish immigration to Palestine is unacceptable since it leads to unrest and affects public safety. The Bludan conference of the Arab League in June 1946 established the Higher Arab Committee to "coordinate efforts with regard to Palestine," a radical body that led and coordinated attempts to wipe Israel off the map.
What's even more preposterous about the UNRWA law is one's refugee status can be inherited to the descendents who never lived/born in Palestine in the first place. This is against the normal international law which refuses to acknowledge descendents as refugees. That means the Palestinian refugee problem has jumped in ridiculous numbers - from 700,000 to 5 million Palestinian refugees in 2012! Only 30,000-50,000, of the original Palestinian refugee population, live in the world today.
Even President Mahmoud Abbas said in 2011: "On numbers of refugees, it is illogical to ask Israel to take 5 million, or indeed 1 million" . "That would mean the end of Israel."

The Palestinian refugee problem is the responsibility and creation of the Arab League, as it had decided to threaten the existence of the Jews and the newly planned state of Israel agreed upon by UN Partition Proposal in 1947 : Arab League Secretary Azzam Pasha, according to an interview in an 11 October 1947 article of Akhbar al-Yom, said: "I personally wish that the Jews do not drive us to this war, as this will be a war of extermination and a momentous massacre which will be spoken of like the Mongolian massacres and the Crusades". Most of the Palestinians left their homes from their free will after being promised by the Arab League, that upon returning to their home all of Palestine would be clean of Jews. The Arab countries wanted to finish what Nazi Germany started. Moreover, the Arab leaders threatened the Palestinians that those who would wish to stay under the newly Jewish regime, would be looked upon as renegades.

A little more than two years after World War 2 has ended when 1/3 of the total population of Jews was exterminated, the Jews in Israel had to fight for their lives as they knew what the Arab world is capable of. It is well documented that during WW2 high figurative key men in the Arab World made a pack with the devil and agreed with Hitler on the fate of the Jewish nation in the world, notably the Grand mufti of Jerusalem, Muhammad Amin al-Husayni. Hitler was considered a hero, a saviour and a modern prophet in the Arab world, why aren't you horrified at that?! Why aren't you horrified that the Holocaust crossed over to North Africa as well, and concentration camps and transportations started there?!

What about the Jewish Nakba?! are you ignorant as hell or are you so racist to Spharadic Jews that you've "forgotten" about it? there were many horrific pogroms happening in North Africa , escalating in 1947 when Jews were murdered in various Arab countries and were deprived by the Arab governments of their citizenship, their property was stolen and they were expelled from their homes. Between 800,000 to 1 million Jews were expelled from their homeland in the Arab world in the years of 1948-70's. Israel solved the Jewish refugee problem when they took them in and gave them citizenship. In contrast, The Arab league didn't want to give a solution to the Palestinian refugee problem and preferred to use their tragic state for their own benefit as a "human strategic weapon" against Israel. Few Palestinians actually received citizenship from the Arab countries they fled to. Most were placed in refugee camps in the Arab countries, continuing to suffer there to this day.

You're disgusted? I'm disgusted by people like you, who use lies and propaganda to upgrade their social status in foreign countries and apologize to the world for their "bad" DNA of Jewish blood. The unfortunate fact which many are not aware or perhaps cannot believe is that some of the biggest Anti-Semites in the world are Jews themselves or at least have some Jewish background in their family tree. Your state of mind is more dangerous and life threatening than any other form of Anti-Semitism by non-Jews since you use your Jewish background to give your lies, twisted hate and racism a backbone and legitimacy. You're using the old trick in the book - you can spread hate and lies about Jews and Israelis because you're "Jewish" and "Israeli" yourself, so it's all good. Bravo traitor.

Yes that's correct , just 1 tiny state for the Jewish nation (the only democratic nation in the Middle East, respecting all minority citizens, giving full rights to all religions, gender equality etc) against 22 Arab countries and countless of Muslim countries defined by: colonist dictatorships oppressing women, gays and minorities. Nice...

Palestinians are planning to create their state free of Jews. PLO ambassador in Washington, Maen Areikat, said the following less than a year ago, as a response to a question about the rights of minorities in a Palestine of the future. : "After the experience of the last 44 years of military occupation and all the conflict and friction, I think it would be in the best interest of the two people to be separated". What?????? the Palestinians want separation?! how could it be? an apartheid?
Well what can you expect when even Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas is a Holocaust denier.

Re: Morrissey: Say YES to human rights, No to apartheid Arab world

It's a shame that the only way you can defend the Israeli government is by being racist. Are we to assume that the Israeli government is as anti arab as you are?
You seem to make the same mistake that many Palastinian support groups make, that is blaming the people for the actions of the state. Anti Israel is not anti semitism.
I agree with you on many points:Israel exists under intolerable pressure. On the other hand to absolve them of any wrongdoing would be crazy.

No, no, please re read my post. Maybe I should have been clearer. Sure, I acknowledge that the governments of many Arab states have a lot to answer for (as does Israel) and I did not shrug anything off. My point was that to reduce the argument to condemning the arabs and muslims does your reasoning no favours. Arabs and muslims are just people, like the jews. Attack those who are to blame, Assad not the Syrian people for example. Come on, lets make progress here.

No, I'm not Anti-Arab, I'm anti-lies, something which unfortunately many Arabs and Muslims are specialists in. Am I being Anti-Arab because I expose their twisted lies and dishonesty?
You are being dishonest yourself. Where did I blame the Syrian people? I blamed Assad's regime and the opposition as they're both criminals.

Where did I claim the Israeli government is perfect as you claim? the only one cleaning completely one's state actions is you , when you comfortably ignore Britain's responsibility for the situation today in the Middle East and Africa with its past colonial Empire and crimes.

You have double standards when you claim being Anti-Israel is not Anti-Semitism yet being Anti-Arab-Lies is racism.
In my view, being Anti-Israel crosses the border of legitimacy when it's based on lies and propaganda. It's Anti-Semitism when you boycott anything to do with Israeli citizens and not with the government. Who is gonna go to Morrissey's concert? The Israeli government?!
Anti-Israel is becoming the Anti-Semitism of the 21st century when it crosses the point where you isolate Israel from the rest of the countries in the world and blame it for many imaginary wrongdoings that other countries are the ones that actually to blame for, and even worse. It loses legitimacy when Anti-Israeli people target Jews in the world and use different methods of violence against them. It becomes Anti-Semitism when Jews are afraid to speak in Hebrew and wear anything which contains hints about the national identity/religion outside of Israel.

Israel is far from perfect but calling this state apartheid is a complete lie and a spit in the face to the real victims of the South African Apartheid. I live close to Arabs, I work with them daily, Jewish and Arab patients stay at the same hospitals sharing the same room and getting the same treatment, Arab doctors treating patient Jews and vice versa; Arabs and Jews eat at the same restaurant, sit next to each other in busses, go to the same malls, parks etc. All citizens have the same rights to vote for the Knesset- the Israeli Parliament. Everything is the same between Jew and Arab citizens of Israel. Nowadays, the population of the Arab citizens is estimated at 1,573,000 million, 20.4 % of the total Israeli population.

The Palestinian leaders had precious opportunities to make final peace but they blew it because they refuse to see Israel as a home for the Jewish people. Their offer is preposterous, they want two states for themselves basically - 1. Israel to cease being the homeland for the Jewish nation. 2. Creating a Palestinian state, clean from Jews and other minorities. The only racists are the Palestinian leaders who believe in a Palestinian apartheid.
The Palestinians have much responsibility for where they are now, there were democratic elections in Gaza a few years ago and they chose Hamas, a terror organization which refuses to negotiate with Israel in any term, and send bombers, and rockets into cities and places populated with innocent civilians. Israelis wish to have peace for many many many years. But sadly, they don't have a decent partner .

Just look at Egypt, the common belief in the streets of Egypt is that they should cancel the peace agreement with Israel, and Egypt's roots of problems are Israel and the Jews of the world. Unfortunately it's a never ending story with the Arab world . Even if the impossible would happen and a peace agreement between Israel and Palestine would be here tomorrow, it wouldn't assure the Israelis that in the future the Palestinians and Arabs won't initiate an all out war on Israel like they did in 48, 67 etc.

Some of you people are so f***ing stupid. Israel, which holds the biggest gay parades in the Middle East, has gay soldiers, Christian soldiers, Druze soldiers, Arab soldiers...it's no different than any other fledgling Democracy. Apartheid? I wonder how many of you have been there in order to make such a judgment. Where were you hypocrites when he toured Indonesia, where in Jakarta gays are legally labeled as "mentally handicapped and are therefore not protected under the law," [http://www.zcommunications.org/indonesia-gays-fight-sharia-laws-by-doug-ireland] or Singapore...jeez, don't get me started on Singapore.

Anti-Semites and narrow-minded bigots populate this shite site - and this thread is evidence of it.

Again with this bs diversion....'what about the arab states'. Whatever 'Arab' states do or dont do it doesnt negate the rights of the Palestenians. The reality is there was a concerted effort to create a state where Palestenians were living, a state that excluded the indigenous people living there. This is racist. For 64 years the Palestenians have lived without rights, without a state so that some people could have a birthright to a land they claimed god gave them 4K years ago. Its wrong. Its not just. And if you're American your country has supported it 110 percent. It would not have happened without America...and its caused oil embargoes, motivated terrorism, wars and costs billions upon billions of dollars. The ignorance of giving Israel a free pass to not follow international law because of the shoah or anti-semitism is wrong. The Palestenians suffer for it. Smarten up.

Most Jewish people are white. There are alot of countries where White people...You think you can subdivide an ethnicty into a small group and then demand a country for them? What about Roma? What about Kurds. What about Mormons? Should they all have a country to0? 95% of Palestine was not Jewish at the turn of the century...It becamse Israel because they took it by force, through violence. To this day they are oppressing the decedants of those they stole the land from. People irregardless of religion or ethncity have rights. they are universal. what happened to a jewish person in germany 70 years ago does not take away the rights of Palestnians refugees today. Justice will come. Zionism is anachronism of the modern world. Its only a matter of time.

Re: Morrissey: Say YES to human rights, No to apartheid Arab world

Why should they see it as the home for the Jewish people? The majority of people living there werent Jewish yet the Zionists setup a state that ecluded these people...why should they accept that? Why should anyone. What about the 20% of Israelis who are Palestenians? Is it there state or the the Jewish state? Imagine a European state became a Christian state? What would the Jewish people in NYC say if the majority of Americans said America is a "Christain" state? They rightfully call it racist...but Israel should be allowed to do it and call it self a democracy? haha. No.

(i) Nations are not naturally-occurring phenomena; they are ongoing social constructions. That includes not just Israel, but also "Palestine", the United States of America and any other place you care to mention.

(ii) Off the top of my head, I can think of, at least, one European "Christian state": the UK.

BDS, It aint a personal attack on you. Its a sign of support for Justice & equality - not only do Palestenians support BDS but so do many Israelis.

But it is against me if I cant enjoy shows just because I live here.

What a ludicrous thing to say. Have you not seen the footage from the show in Indonesia?

I find that generalisation about a whole group of people deeply disturbing in its racism and islamaphobia.

Many conservative Muslims consider music to be haraam, so Morrissey is hardly the exception. If others don't and they want to listen to Moz, well then what are you complaining about?

The goal is justice. During the civil rights movement in the US, people protested racist Jim Crow laws through civil disobedience and boycotts. Did it effect some people who through no fault of their own were part of the system? Yes. But the target was not Southern people. It was not an attack on a southern white people. It was an attack on racist Jim Crow laws that had given one group of people privileges over another. Same with artists boycotting Israel today. BDS, is not an attack on you, its an challenge to the system in Israel that has allowed 500K people to move into settlements outside of Israels border. Its a way to bring awareness to the world of the millions of Palestinians who are living as refugees for 64 years because Israel must have its settlements. .

BDS may be inconvenient for Israelis who don't consider themselves political, but its insignificant compared to what the Palestinians are going through.
