I just can't understand the level of anger on this thread over an issue that has been obvious for decades, and shows no sign of changing. If his diet infuriates you now, and presumably has done for 30 years, the reasonable response would be to accept that he doesn't want to go vegan for whatever reason and get on with your life.

Paul McCartney isn't vegan either, but I don't see the PETA hordes lining up to crucify him over his cheese habits because that would be utterly ridiculous in light of what he has done for the "movement". Why is it that you and others, who have no problem realising that Morrissey is far from perfect in general, expect such perfection in this one particular arena? He's a 'hypocrite' who eats butter and cheese occasionally, yep, and the world goes on. As far as collecting ammunition to attack Morrissey goes, this is thin gruel.

I do need to try the vegan Lucky Charms recipe (which I "Pinned" eons ago after a relative said I'm "depriving my kids of a decent childhood" for not giving them anything with gelatin in it). Maybe in 2015.

If he can consume cow's milk, is he ok with other human secretions? As a humasexual, would he eat human breast-milk cheese? Or semen cheese?

More sloppy thinking. The reasonable response would be for Morrissey to realise that he has no right to condemn and judge meat eating whilst he still eats cheese. It's as simple and valid a rebuttal of his absurd moralising as it was in 1984. Why doesn't he just get on with his contradictory life and stop berating people whilst ignoring the mote in his own eye? Why does he have such problems with other people's lack of perfection? Pointing out the reality of his hypocrisy isn't 'attacking' him, it's attacking his delusional reasoning and justification for lecturing his audience with animal torture porn. Sure he moralises, but nobody has to listen to him, and they certainly don't have to fashion him as some kind of Jesus for the Animals who can't put a foot wrong without damaging his divine nature.

Fans who buy into that "image" and then start seething when he screws up are just practicing their own hero worship; assuming that a singer is unique among the masses and couldn't possibly be an average Joe and a hypocrite like everybody else.
