new main page image?

Yes. It is new. I especially like the IBEH picture, that looks oh-so-natural on the wall. Quite a bit larger too. I have been working on my playlist for my friends party tonight. I was designated 'DJ Ipod' somehow, and I am trying to sort through over a thousand mp3's, and compile them into a mix, and it's been over four hours now. Any track suggestions? I have all of the usual. I really need to know who that girl group is on the last Moz intro tape is BTW. The one that goes "Farewell, farewell...." Can anyone tell me the name of the song? It's driving me absolutely insane. Everyone have a fun(and extreemely safe) New Years!

> by 'jake in retirement.' i never saw that one before.

I guess it's new, yes.
Is the man on the pic the Jake in question?
He's quite buff, isn't he?

That (homoerotic) older one, where a guy contemplated a picture of Moz was fine too.

> by 'jake in retirement.' I never saw that one before.

my favorite smiths/moz songs to dance to have always been this charming man, panic, international playboys, boy racer, and ask. id say plenty of pulp circa different class is also a must, in particular common people and disco 2000. i will be at a club in nyc where 2 popular "brit pop/new wave" djs will be spinning. they did a night last february where they screened "the importance of being morrissey" and played lots of smiths/moz stuff. the flyer they made for the new years party that my friends are throwing has a picture of two people kind of getting it on, and theres a copy of the viva hate lp on the bed so hopefully that is some sort of indication that we'll get to hear some morrissey tunes.

a safe and fun new years to you to sharron. good luck with the last minute dj set.

are you referring to the 'jake the stripper' image where he lays his head on the 'interesting drug' 12"? that one is my favorite.

Oh, I must have mistaken the Jakes, then.
Yes, that is the one I referred to.

i think the main page could use some better images. some more like the aforementioned two, or the one of late 90s morrissey sitting on the bench. some of the images are quite poor, or at least they contain photos im not so fond of.

Trust me. There's plenty of Pulp, as well as Suede, Libertines, Blur, B&S, Supergrass, James, Roses, etc, and of course, lots of Smiths. Panic will be coming on right after midnight actually.... "All The Young Dudes" is the strike of 12:00 track, and Panic follows right after. I've got all of the old shit in there as well: Roxy Music, Who, The Jam, T-Rex, Stooges, Bowie, Zombies, Creation, Sparks, Small Faces, BB, and lots and lots of northen soul. I guess I still need more current stuff, which is where I get lost.

Since the fans submit the images, there are all kinds of montages and banners.
Good thing they always change, so we never get bored of a particular picture.

out of curiosity, is there significance in mott the hoople being your midnight selection?

There were a few new songs on the last leg of the tour. I know that Bernadette by the Four Tops was played and i think the song you refer to is called "Farewell" and its by Ayshea.

Giving my age away here but i think Ayshea used to present a show called Lift Off in about 1974. I was only 8 but i remember dodgy acts like the Bay City Rollers & Gary Glitter appearing one it !

Ps i hope you're warmer today than you were in Dublin, even Birmingham's warm today !

My God. Thank you! Let's see if my f***ing limewire will not crash again.... Los Angeles is not warm at all actually. It's going piss rain again today, which will make the roads so exciting tonight, I am sure. There was even a tornado here yesterday. They said it was an F0, lol. I think it destroyed one house.

Well, not really. I figure if it's like the party I had last year last year, everyone will be making out again, 10 people will be huddled in the corner trying to smoke weed from a broken glasspiece, someone will be breaking something, the dog will get out, the bottle of Grey Goose I bought will have been stolen, and nobody will notice what's playing at that moment anyway.... It just seemed, fitting.

> So who's the guy then? very good pic, reminds me the 60's kitchen sink drama movies
