Most of us have probably seen and admired the old german film The Tin Drum with little Oskar and his drum. Well, it is also the name of a new band formed by Kitchens of Distinction singer Patrick Fitzgerald who describes the band and its sound like this:
"It’s 1980 Top of the Pops, when McGeoch has joined Siouxsie. It’s 1972 when Ziggy played guitar. When Joni Mitchell was blue. It’s Moominpappa at Sea, sailing out to the lighthouse. It’s Gibson guitars and Montague Terrace. It’s Baudelaire and Poulenc songs, Kraftwerk and Berlin Zoo. It’s a bit Kitchens inevitably. But it is NEW."
Meanwhile, waiting to hear the result, I listen to this northern swedish band and hope some of the sounds may be part of Oskar's Drum:
