Great show - voice was top form. Guy passed out dead drunk in front of me before Moz set began.... Must be in a drunk tank now as security hauled him out from orchestra left. Fun crowd overall. Got up to pit area during encore. Wanted to get on stage but heavy security. wonderful night.

I saw that...dude was blasted and out cold before the show even started. And there by himself. Jeeeeeez louise. I love how he triumphantly threw his arms up as they escorted him out. Classic move.

Third row but not allowed to go up due to not being center, good going Tower. The crowd was inanely set up, as always.
Good show all the same! Felt a bit like a gig merely for the sake of a gig, but non-promotional tours can fall into that easily. Ripper was transcendent, almighty tired of How Soon/Sunday/any "crowd pleaser" that makes the cut.

Great point. I hate when an artist play a crowd pleaser for the crowd.

This was the fifth time that I've seen Morrissey in Philly and he always gets a very enthusiastic audience here. As others have stated, his voice was excellent and he seemed very happy to be there. There were a lot of younger fans, many of the regulars, and a couple people that I spoke with were long time fans who were seeing him live for the first time. So, it was a pretty diverse crowd, and it was most certainly packed (any of the "black curtain", " half full", "rows of empty seats" that will inevitably be posted are complete bullshit!)

Morrissey looked very fit; light blue is by far his best color because it matches the eyes perfectly. He did have the band-aid on his thumb but no bandage on his chest. However, he does have a very red area at the top of his chest (maybe a burn or rash??) Overall, he looks to be in good health and good spirits and very handsome as always.

My personal favorite moments were Jack the Ripper, Ouija Board, Crashing Bores, and Istanbul. Also, I wasn't sure how I would feel about the fog machine (seemed like an arena band sort of thing) but the effect was magical. Morrissey emerging and disappearing in the fog was ethereal, and as others have said, the photos that everyone was not suppose to be taking are amazing.

Another great moment for me was the "Those were the Days" intro because there was a momentary pause as people were processing what the song was and then at the end, a woman close to the stage did a nod to Edith Bunker and shouted the words right on cue. Whoever you are, you made M smirk, and I love to see Morrissey smile in spite of himself, so good job!

I had a great time; hope everyone else enjoyed themselves.

Thankfully in the world of Morrissey we only see people like this here and not at the gigs. Other than posting crap on this forum they really have very little else to do. We can hardly begrudge them their moments to shine like a dull turd can we?

Tiny minds need to shout the loudest.

Exactly, they're either at the gigs themselves, keeping hush and giving money to the man they spend so much time bashing, making them themselves hypocrites.
Or
They really are only here in which case, as you say, says more about their sad lives pouring time and energy into something they hate so much. Which is just sad really that they don't have enough positive things in their life to fill the void so they do this.
Either way
All You Need Is Me absolutely nails them. If Morrissey is a hypocrite for reasons X and Y, and you think you've nailed him for that, then equally he has nailed you in AYNIM, so its a 1-1 draw in which case, just f*** off.

That all said, god please shake up the set list!

There is a lot of instagram, video, periscope from this show, thank you Philly fans!

The fog, at first seemed almost Spinal Tap-ish as it was the densest I've ever seen at a show - giant, thick, slow moving plumes that "towered"- pardon the pun- above those first few rows of lucky fans. When I put 2 and 2 together with a foggy old London and Jack moving about it all clicked and was a great visual addition to an already cool, but not distracting, light show. As my friend said, who last saw Morrissey at the Tower with the rest of the Smiths back in the 80s, it was a very professional looking and sounding show. He hasn't kept up with Moz's solo releases but thoroughly enjoyed it all.
As stated previously, Security were earning their paychecks last night down front. There were people gathering in the center aisle around BBB/DDD but would get dispersed except for a drunk ex-frat boy who, at least, knew the words/music to the more recent stuff and airdrummed his way thru the set, one group tried to bumrush but got totally pushed back, and one girl got totally airborne across the entire aisle after she got into an altercation with another woman who was trying to enjoy the show while standing at her own aisle seat. Moz took notice when two Security linebackers were milling about at the center aisle area of the pit...shortly after Ganglord, fittingly.

Thanks lynnda, I enjoyed the description.

This was my 4th show, the closest I have ever been to the front of the stage. I was right behind the first row of people in the pit up against the barrier. Not a bad spot to watch from, even though I am short. I had 3 tickets (yes, I'm crazy, but how many more chances will I have left to see him?). I had one in DDD and 2 in BBB for the pit. Getting ahold of good tickets is insane the way they are sold and scalped. Too bad they screw the fans over like that, but that's a topic for another thread and in the end it worked out for me and absolutely none of that is Morrissey's fault). Anyway, I have to say that security was a little to rough to some of the fans, and for them to tell us before the show that you can stand at the rail, then 10 mins before the show, go back to your seats, the guards walk off and we all went right back to the front again. Sucked for some people who didn't get the same place. Luckily I got right back in the same spot.

Overall the crowd was good, not too much pushing until the very end which was to be expected. I had a few good chats with several people walking to the theater, in the theater, and after the show. Moz has SOME OF THE MOST LOYAL AND AMAZING FANS I HAVE EVER MET! Its so nice to meet people like that.

Moz sounded great although there was one or two songs where the band was a little off, maybe I was too close, bad acoustics or whatever, but truly amazing! He looked fit and well, I am glad to see it! Although I never did get to touch the King's hand, I did get the next best thing, a part of his shirt! When it got tossed I saw it in the air heading my way and it landed right next to me. There was about 10 people all fighting over it as the lights were going up. I had two hands on it and I was absolutely NOT letting go of it. Thanks to the girl in the front row, who ever you are, that called the security guard with the scissors back to cut the shirt into 4 pieces (which was only like a third of the shirt after the main part was taken by the 2 guys in the front row). Thank you dear for sharing and getting it cut!

Awesome show! Long live the KING!

Ketamine Sun Were you in the front row to the right of the stage? If so, I think I recognize your picture, I was behind you. Sorry if I bumped into you there!

I thought the show was fantastic. Luckily I had CC pit seats so I was up front. The pit wasn't too aggressive until the shirt toss which I fortunately got a little piece. City of Brotherly Love...the crowd was great, lots of friendly people before, during and after. OoOO and HSIN were pleasant surprises.

I was here..One of the best shows I've seen here. I've also seen New Orders recent tour at the Tower as well. People are saying that he preformed a boring setlist. Actually, this was an amazing setlist. I can't believe I heard "Ouija Board" played live. It has been one of my favorite Moz solo songs. Ganglord was very powerful almost haunting. However does anyone know the image Moz used on the bass drum? as well as the backdrop before the show started. I am love with it. I also got a piece of his shirt when he threw it out at the end. I can't wait for the next opportunity to see him.

not sure of the source, it's probably been discussed here already somewhere, but it is the new cover art for the upcoming 2nd release of WPINOYB.

Oh Dorothy I'm so pleased for you having such a good time watching the wizard perform his act.
What a shame you had to endure the same old songs though eh ?
Don't let those blue eyes fool you even if they do come with a matching coloured shirt.
Is one fit and healthy or on deaths door ? We don't know from one week to the next do we ?
What a piss take its all been if he doesn't die from cancer soon ! This so called cancer is really dragging on a bit now !
Regards to the fog machine ! I look at it as his 9/11, when the music industry towers came crashing down on him for being a Cheese eating, CrankFraud, Charlatan, Lucky, Talentless 4kwit, Wanker who by the way is NOT gay.

Genuine best wishes to your other half who you mentioned previously had real deal to cope with.

Cheese is murder y'all !

P.S. To the wider audience, Surface is far, far from being a Mozzbot. He has called Steve out many times.
A level headed poster in my book.

Enjoy the weekend ( the dark nights are coming :()
