you do realise that a mobile phone conversation occurs every day before he gets to the bench... it's with his partner.... and is along the lines of;

Partner: "okay, i'll get you at the bench, i'll be 10 minutes, i'm just popping into M&S to buy a newspaper"

Man: "okay, sweetie"

...2 hours later, laden with shopping bags, partner arrives at bench, nonchalantly empties shopping into mans backpack, and expects a lift home!
Mystery solved!! No need for further enquiry! QED!

No, I haven't seen Vexed, but I'm vexed because it's so bloody cold
outside and windy ( I hate wind more than cold) and I have to go
and get the bread but I really can't be stuffed.
But, if I don't go and get it, I would be neglectful of my son, so I better
had get off my arse and all and go get it!
However, all that being said I'm still sitting here whingeing.
I'm looking out the window and the sun is shining at least.
I better get my act together. I know the walk will do me good, it's

Gosh, it's awfully quiet in here today.
I've just gotten off the phone to my Auntie. We have been worrying
about my other Auntie who lives in the country and doesn't drive
and we feel she is depressed because she won't answer her phone.
I feel very sad because I used to go to visit her but now I can't because
I don't have a car anymore.
I wish people would not have to be alone so much. It makes me sad.
