Great show up until the end. For those of you complaining about the two lines, the Royal Oak website (and Ticket.com iirc) clearly stated that those who either had their ticket sent to their mobile phone or printed it at home got in first. Don't blame the venue for that one.

Amazing show. I was on the top level with a table and everyone was jammin out! The vibe was great and couldn't have been more pleased with the set, performance and experience.

Boz Boorer
(Proper Noun)

A person with rude, clumsy manners and little refinement.

lol

I did see Boz kick the security in the back

"à la Boz Boorer" (Brit. idiom): behind someone's back/anonymously/ in a careless or cowardly manner

ex: "I left a couple of comments on Morrissey-solo for Xmas, but I couldn't be arsed loging in, especially to comment on Humpty Boorer Dumpty's sly kickboxing style. So I totally did that à la BB."

Not sure why people are insulting Boz Boorer here. I've met the guy a few times and corresponded with him via email way back when and always found him to be a gentleman as well as an immensely talented guitarist and a legend in his own right pre-Morrissey (because of his old band the Polecats). He's also co-written many of Moz's most loved solo songs and been with the band for 20 years. Boz did what any concerned musician would do, he defended his audience. Cant BELIEVE anyone would take the side of Royal Oak MT security after that fiasco. I was there.

...being a good egg, for BB...

Now Johnny 'the future's so bright we gotta let the world know we're wearing Raybans' Marr may not be the brightest pea in the ipod, but it's rather hard to imagine him, (or Alain), kicking someone in the back. Even an over-enthusiastic security guard. No?

'Jesse T and Martin B: all their musical talent is in their feet."

Your photos were gorgeous, Greycard. Thanks for sharing.

You said security was tight, but you obviously got in with a camera. The photos look very professional. Did you by chance, have a press pass?

Hello All!

It was an amazing show for sure. Morrissey sounded great as did the band. The security was definitely on a power trip. Starting with the whole two lines to get in after people had been waiting for several hours. Then the pat down to get into the venue seemed a bit extreme as well. I have seen several shows here and not had that done...although it was a little over a year ago since the last one. I guess you can't be too careful. I'm not sure what it is about wearing the same colored polos that turns people into crazy control freaks.

I was in the front pretty much center right behind Julia. I couldn't see the melee during Still Ill but I did see Boz kick the security in the back and yell to them to stop. Kind of sad way to end, but I had an awesome time. Meat is Murder was really powerful. I particularly enjoyed Maladjusted. It sounded amazing.

Took a bunch of photos if anyone is interested: http://bit.ly/vAG1vn

It might take a while for them to load...be patient though as it is worth it.

Until the next show....

 Beautiful! Every single one. You sure have one helluva camera, glad it didn't get damaged in the frequently reported melee.

Thanks for the comments!

No press pass. There were a swarm of press photographers during the first three songs. Four or five at least. I would imagine those will show up somewhere. Maybe flickr?

My photos were all shot with a small canon point and shoot camera - Powershot S95. I confess I am a professional photographer by trade so I know the limitations and settings to use. They said no cameras but I...um..."strategically" placed it in a location during the pat down to get it in :)

Honestly I was surprised they let me take photos, I figured they would just tell me to stop...but I never used the flash....so I don't think it is as obnoxious or attention grabbing during the show.

On the line thing...yeah it was posted on the website and such...but the venue could have done a better job by notifying in person or have signs posted or something.

very much agreed.

Wasn't the security guard a man? Why then call him a c***, when he's obviously just a dickhead? You'd have thought the fat pussy would have chosen his insult a bit more carefully! All that touring with Kristeen didn't teach him not to offend the ladies then?

We're not taking any sides. We're just suggesting that Boz Boorer work out his aggro at the gym, rather than in a music venue. Not that it is easy for an egg to find its balance on a treadmill but...

"defending his audience" His? You mean these people only came to see Boz Boorer, the genius who gets all his foreign cultural refs from Allo Allo then runs off to casinos with the money he made from the lousiest single in the history of accordion? Or the guitarist who breaks into weird wind instrument solos that are probably intended as tributes to the late Gerry Rafferty but really, we can't be sure? Or the musical director that kicks like a mule? Which one of those tres amigos was it again? He's so multifaceted, we forget!

Yes, I'm a bit baffled by the Boz bashing. Wasn't he just sticking up for fans?

P.

No, he was being a boor and a brute. Love, peace and harmony and all that, but only when convenient of course. Nobody is sticking up for the security but why should we condone his gutter behaviour either?

Thanks for the comments!

They did have some folks making sure people were in the correct lines until at least 6:30, but I'll admit that even knowing there would be two lines, I had to ask which was which when I arrived.

How about signing in so we can put a name to these stabbing slices of wit?

Jerk.
