I've always thought New Order's Subculture might be about t'old lad.

These are some of the lyrics written while The Smiths were at the height of their popularity.

One of these days you'll go back to your home
You won't even notice that you are alone
One of these days when you sit by yourself
You'll realise you can't shaft without someone else
In the end you will submit
It's got to hurt a little bit

btw.
I searched to see if there was a thread like this but couldn't find one.

Getting Away With It by Electronic:

I've been walking in the rain just to get wet on purpose
I've been forcing myself not to forget just to feel worse
I've been getting away with it all my life

However I look it's clear to see
That I love you more than you love me

I hate that mirror, it makes me feel so worthless
I'm an original sinner but when I'm with you I couldn't care less
I've been getting away with it all my life

I thought I gave up falling in love a long long time ago
I guess I like it but I can't tell you, you shouldn't really know
And it's been true all my life
Yes, it's been true all my life

How about three that are unquestionably about Morrissey?

Sandie Shaw: "Steven, You Don't Eat Meat"

Warlock Pinchers: "Morrissey Rides a Cockhorse"

And Ween: "I Hate The Smiths"
