I've read that "Crash" may actually win for Best Picture 'stealing' the award from "Brokeback Mountain."

I just saw this film again! Wow, what a beautiful, ambitious, and talented person she is. She was also great in "Pleasantville" & "Election" & "The Man in the Moon."

I hope so. While the book Brokeback Mountain was reasonably good I think the reviews for Brokeback Mountain, the FILM, have been highly exaggerrated. Sure, it's an ok film with the always fascinating issue of impossible love ('impossible' in whatever shape or form it may be) but the film is so overrated, And Jake Gyllenhaal? I thought he was good in Donnie Darko and Moonlight Mile but he's pretty bad in this one. On the contrary i think Heath Ledger does a surprisingly good job. Oh well, anyway, here's to 'Crash'.

How's Capote? I'm looking forward to see that one!

I disagree with you on the film "Brokeback Mountain" but then I did not read the book and might feel as you do if I had. I thought "Crash" was highly overrated but it has several things going for it, not least of which is that it is politically correct and set in LA - where the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences and most of its membership live. As for Capote, B film, with A+ performance by Philip Seymour Hoffman; I hope Heath Ledger wins.
