The fair kicks off with a night dedicated to ’80s/’90s new wave and mope rock from The Smiths and Morrisey, Depeche Mode and the Cure, with three really good tribute bands — including a talented group of Calexicans in Los Esmiths — all of whom can be seen and heard on the Internet (www.thecured.net, www.myspace.com/blasrumours, www.myspace.com/losesmiths).

[/FONT]The following night is a Johnny Cash tribute by Rusty Evans, who looks and sounds like The Man in Black. He’s also backed by a band of hot rockabilly musicians (www.ajohnnycashtributeband.com). Search for his music on YouTube.

March 6 and 7 are all about heavy metal, with the original KISS Army Tribute band on the Friday and ’80s hair metal cover band Aquanett the next night.

Aquanett (www.aquanett80s.com) is pretty entertaining, with a set list that runs from Ratt and Ozzy to Poison, Metallica and Guns ‘N Roses.

But the KISS band will be in a different league (www.the kissarmytribute.com), looking like an exact 1975 “Alive”-era KISS. Paul sounds like Paul and Gene sounds like Gene. They’ve got the costumes, the makeup, the moves and the sound.
