q-is Johnny marr a total dick?
a-he seems pretty level headed and down to earth

q-is morrissey a total dick?
a-he seems like one

you tell me why the smiths brok up and why relativly noone is into morrissey who is at all hip except meth heads and faded rockabilly homos

I realise Morrissey is a flawed man, and that's one of the reasons I like him. He's human! Johnny Marr is apparently nice, yes, but you do realise that not everyone in the world is like him, don't you? It would be boring if everyone was!

And the comment about Morrissey fans being 'methheads' and 'faded rockabilly homos' is completely untrue, as proves the different types of people who visit this site, go to gigs, etc.

The Smiths broke up because Morrissey was too jealous, and he didn't want to share the talent of brilliant Johnny Marr with anybody. it was Morrissey's fault. Then, Johnny used to like to play with other artists aside The Smiths, and The King of White Horse named Morrissey didn't like the idea at all. So there you are, one of the best british bands ever, went to the dust because of Morrissey's ego.

Morrissey was not the one with the ego, smart guy. I heard that it was Andy who was jealous of Moz and of the lack of power he had in the band. Moz was keeping a brotha down as usual. The man co-wrote "Yes, I am Blind"-that song is a freakin' awesome track, mates. The also had some great bass lines in many Smiths songs. He was tops, mates. The Moz bloke kinda got jealous of Andy's great chops, understandably so. At times Moz *was* jealous of Mike Joyce's good looks. Johnny was one smart man, cause he knew how great they were and he also knew Moz would bring them down. Moz was alos jealous of Sandie Shaw, he wanted to steal her clothes for himself.

Thanks for your great stupidity. Next nut case, please!

mmm... i don`t care why smiths broke up... morrissey solo is still better than the smiths...

Sorry but The Smiths albums are much better than any Morrissey album. By the way, after The Smiths, Morrissey just made shit, and Johnny Marr as well.

Actually, Morrissey just went on doing his thing, hardly missing
a beat after Marr destroyed the SMiths. Meanwhile Johnny
Marr, for whatever personal reasons, chose to waste much of
his prime away.

You have a screw loose, matie. Moz is God, Johnny is a great session guitarist, who adds his special *flair* to the songs he plays on. Bryan Ferry, Pretenders, The The, etc.........

Btw, did Marr play guitar on that Pretenders/Chrissie Hynde Chrismas song that was *way* overplayed on radio this year? Sounds exactly like his style.
Anyone else notice this?

Those didn't excite me too much, nor does someone being a session musician.

"Dogs of Lust" by The The is a good song.

And I was glad he worked with Kirsty!

And "The Last Ride" by The HEalers is "ok," if also rather generic.
Don't know what happened to The Healers. Did Johnny quit again, already?

Didn't hear it, but I hate xmas songs anyway. The only good one was the Ramones' xmas song.

Pretenders / Johnny / Bryan Ferry

........they did 2 'Christmas' songs - one, '2000 Miles', not 'really' a Christmas song, but a great track, came out early-mid 80s (83?), so don't think he played on that.

The other one, 'Have yourself a merry little christmas' (remember it was the theme for the cracking Christmas Royle Family where Denise gives birth?) was originally recorded for the 'Very Special Christmas' AIDS charity album in 1986-87, and I don't think Johnny was involved with Pretenders at this time, either.

Favourite non-Smiths Johnny moment? Has to be his work with Bryan Ferry - check out the CD single of his single 'The Right Stuff' (from 'Bete Noir'), basically 'Money Changes Everything' with lyrics - which is incredible.
