as part of the bbc 4 season from the north.they are showing they came from manchester the story of mancunian pop on friday the 17th at 11.55pm.it shows studio performances fro the 1960,s until the present .

Thanks for this Peter - very helpful.

I'm trying to recognise anything left - the War Memorial is still there on the Cresent, the Irwell is thankfully less polluted, still a market (no idea if it is the same one), many of those churches are long gone along with the slums that were still there in 1960, and most of those new tower blocks have been knocked down.
