Congratulations to Ireland

The people, once again, teach the church. The people, once again, teach the politicians.

Now, Ireland, please abolish fur farms and factory-farming and transportation of live animals, and welcome yourself completely into the 21st century.

Bit rich coming from a man that never before backed the gay community and never stood proud about his sexual preference but good on him to finally leave that closet.

Welcome to Sweden and Eurovision 2016 as the Great Britain representative cause only Sweden truly acknowledge you.

Why do people need to be "proud" of a sexual preference? Generally, people are proud for something they earned, not something that just is.

It's not 1972. One does not need to scream about their sexual orientation and one does not need to label oneself and make proclamations to appease misguided expectations.

Come out? I believe he is over the door much more often these days, actually.

I don't understand what you mean. On another note, i get so extremly frustrated of all the know at alls here, who constantly discuss reason why Morrissey has not come out as fully gay, homosexual or bisexual. He has chosen to be label free. He refuses to only dated men or women or transexuals or etc. People just want him to come out with a established label so they can say: "i told you so" to others.

Jesus its like people here are fighting over players in their soccer team and all the sexualitys want the big dog Morrissey on their team.

well mine said it was an issue I think he had when he was young, read as before the smiths even formed, that he got over and dealt with and came out of it just fine. how can you forge an identity with no struggle? do I think moz had no struggle at all with the issue when he first looked at it within himself, well no I don't. that would be weirdly inhuman and as a person with a psychology background I just don't believe that. he clearly loves his mother and if his mother was truly a catholic she probably had some feelings about this which can cause conflict in the young. they both probably got over it. I do think this conversation a little tedious and pointless though. I mean aren't you the one who was talking about tributes to someone. Ireland? seriously, you just sound like a passive aggressive version of brummies "debating" style but I could be wrong. either way ill leave you to it and just talk to others.
The discussion about his sexuality and if he does tributes to viv and twinkle are two different topics, in which i have to different opinions. Plus my post was directed at the general things that got dragged up in this thread and many others, not you

The rest of you post, i don't even know how its relevant to the things i have discussed

Yes ! Come out !
He's NOT " over the door " until he makes a TTY Statement that he's a puff !
Just like he's not a vegan until he makes a TTY Statement to say that after 30 years of eating cheese he is so sorry to all the cows he has abused,
Does he care ? Does he care ? (Does he fook)

He's a 4kin cheese eating CrankFraud until he addresses the issue with a grovelling TTY Statement !

"Thirty years is a long time ! "

This forum started out with great intentions. Unfortunatly a bunch of the shining ghosts-like people turned it something full hate for the unessecery trivial things of the Smiths and morrissey. The worst thing is that its rubbing of on me. I'm starting to post critical post about Morrissey on things i don't even care about and don't affect morrisseys music. All that really matters is how Morrissey and the Smiths makes you feel when you are lying in bed listening to Morrissey and the Smiths. Half of My post are so contradictionary to each other because of the confusion on this forum, that i don't agree with them myself. So before i go full blown "here's Johnny!" its time to let go of this place and save the post for when i need info on upcoming concerts, to buy tickets and etc. It better to discuss Morrissey and the Smiths in real life. I just Love Morrissey and want to share Love for him with others

I will miss your kind, sweet replys anonomyswithapologies.

I'm finding it difficult to understand those giving Moz a slagging off here. He's praising the people of Ireland for striking a blow for equality for people whose sexuality was something not of their own choosing, just as being black or disabled is. In my opinion it can only be a good thing that people who have no choice in their sexuality are given parity in law, and that, to me, is praiseworthy.

Indeed, Uncleskinny. Way to go, Ireland!

Make sure you check back in around August time so you can see the fallout caused by Tosserrey headlining the F Y F Festival in L A, it's NOT animal friendly so the question still remains WIIL HE or WON'T HE ?
A true vegan would have cancelled the day that Benny pointed out it is NOT ANIMAL FRIENDLY just like Glastonbury is NOT ANIMAL FRIENDLY.
He's got himself into a very sticky situation now, I predict there are going to be some rich pickings ahead.

I wish people wouldn't adopt this silly humasexual nonsense. I don't mind new words being coined if there's a good reason for them, but I cynically suspect humasexual only serves to make Morrissey feel he's special and different from the rest of us. It's not for me to say what Morrissey's sexuality is, but from reading his book and humasexual statement, I think we can safely tick the bisexual box - no new word required...

The word you're looking for is QUEER

When BrummieBoy's having sex with a Trans person, is he having sex with a man/woman/both/neither? Or is it beyond the binary? Therefore, why on earth would BB self-identify as 'bisexual' when it's factually incorrect. And as for The Gay Cult's unexamined bi-phobia (bi-today-gay tomorrow) BB has a pithy response: Pray The Gay Away Motherf***ers.

All very tedious.
Most of his formative years were in a climate of 'queer' bashing, 'pooftas' and negative views continually towards openly gay people. Even with homosexuality being decriminalised in the 60's (and no longer seen as a mental illness), the negativity and lack of acceptance continued well in to the 80's before people 'outed' themselves in greater, more open ways.
It is totally understandable why someone might never feel comfortable defining their sexuality given their socialisation and some of their idols and influences. The logical conclusion to more open times is not that everyone suddenly shouts their sexual choice out and expects acceptance. Besides a lot of places not being as liberal and accepting as they would like you to believe, there are probably thousands of people with Moz's reserved, non-disclosing mentality kicking round. He has an absolute right to be as vague as he likes and he can even make a statement about Ireland if he likes - whatever his tastes.
People who think otherwise are just arguing for the sake of it.
Kind regards,
FWD

"And the year 2000 won't change anyone here"

Although there'll be homophobic holdouts, from Ballyfermot through to Swords, the entire working-class sub-structure of Dublin voted YES! for #MarRef

Morrissey is right to celebrate this, but he was crazy to plan the Sydney dates and miss out on the best street party ever in Dublin on Saturday night. Still high, we're back in The Shire trying to make sense of it all. Amazing time to be alive and living on these Isles of Wonder.

As far as I'm concerned, even the ridiculous acronym "LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ" itself is a farce. Why should any of those groups of people be forced to represent each other group in the first place?

Mainstream representations of sexual orientation are pretty f***ed up. If you are not heterosexual and especially if you choose to label yourself with any word in particular, you become a circus act rather than a human being and there is no turning back. (As an aside, there is no logical reasoning to the order of the letters nor any logic to grouping together sexual orientations and genders).

Also, the word "gay" as a signifier has very negative connotations. When one hears the word "gay", it signifies a particular lifestyle, not a simple sexual orientation of a human being, but rather once identified as gay, one is generally defined accordingly as: carefree, licentious, promiscuous, loud, colourful etc. We all know the stereotypes. If you are gay, you are expected to be an extroverted, hypersexualized, flamboyant comedy act and you essentially discard your humanity as you assume the label.

There is a major rift and distinction that I believe exists and needs to be made between the words "gay" and "homosexual". They clearly do not signify the same thing. Regardless of Morrissey's exact sexual preference, it is no wonder that he would prefer to avoid any labels, especially labels that signify clear misrepresentations to him as a person. I would do the same, and I do do the same.

Yes, the hard-core of Teh Kult Of Gayz have turned into a tiresome bunch of Pleasure Principle Marines on The Hedonic Treadmill [Edit: nowt wrong with non-stop sex unless you insist it's for everyone else too], but that's why #MarriageEquality was so important. Now the option of cats and a suburban marriage on some ghost estate in Kildare is just as viable for the f*****s as for the norms. Long queues outside the Boilerhouse, even at 4:00am. LOL!

The word your looking for is QUEER . It's in yer face, responds to the 'that's so gay' attempt to re-establish homophobia, and like the N-word, reclaiming it from insult maddens the f*** out of the enemy. BB's Vegan. Queer. Anti-Theist and he finally fully materialised in this space-time dimension at Dublin Castle on Saturday nights. Great times ahead!

#WelcomeToTheGardenOfVegÉireann will be the follow up 45rpm/12" single after #VegAnarchyInTheUK

BB has issued the Proclamation Of The 2nd Rainbow Republic Of Ireland to an email list of the country's *movers&shakers*. He will make a formal, public announcement on this next Easter as part of his reflections on the centenary of 1916. BB applauds (and salutes!) Morrissey as a true Soldier Of Destiny for standing up for the Animals Of Ireland. BB is in discussions about how to update the myths of The Famine so that they report what happened to Animals in Ireland. Just as Gary Yourofsky is right to lambast hypocrites elsewhere, Morrissey as a Vegan, is now justified in joining BB in linking the plight of animals in Irish history to the revisionist Human Supremacy scripts of 1916. f*** Humanism. f*** Human Supremacy. 1916 is Unfinished Business....

I have no particular view on this, save to point out the enduring hypocrisy of the left.

The recent Tory majority in the UK has been declared to be illegitimate and anti-democratic in many left leaning precincts here, including the nuttier-by-the-day Guardian, because the turnout was roughly 60%, meaning that only around 37% of the country placed their 'x' in a Conservative box. Proof, it is said, that democracy is broken.

Today the Guardian is celebrating a "stunning" victory for gay rights in the Republic based on a turnout of around 60% and around 37% having voted in favour. Harold Wilson said a week is a long time in politics. Three weeks appears to be an eon.

I shall contemplate this while feeding my cat his favourite treat of M&S garlic, chilli and coriander prawns. He still hasn't mastered opening the fridge door. Or the bag. Or the packet.

In fact, I'm regretting calling him Thumbs for fear of being accused of an ableist hate crime by PETA or Natalie Bennett.
