Just a relatively unimportant question ... I bought a gown at MEN Arena in 2012 with "Salford" under "Morrissey" on my chest - and now I find that "Salford" was Replaced by "Manchester" in the same logo. Any idea when / why that change was made?

Probably b/c Salford would mean more to the local crowd at the show, but Manchester would be more identifiable to the worldwide buying populace. The item in question was probably produced specifically for that show.

I seem to recall a Morrissey 'Salford' bowling-style bag at that gig too.
Never saw mention of them elsewhere - perhape a one-off?
Regards,
FWD.
