vegas, who's going?

I ended up booking at Planet Hollywood cause the $100 price tag was about where i wanted to spend, without going to far from mid-strip and also hoping for a cleaner place to stay than Imperial Palace. I am also hopeful for a few different songs than were played on his European tour. I was fortunate enough to see him in Dublin in July, but would love to hear some other songs at this show.
Perhaps a meetup pre or post show may be in order. I fly into Vegas the Friday morning and am staying until Monday evening, so if people want to meet up, that would be fun.

Did you go for the Hollywood Hip room? That's the cheapest room I see there.

"These rooms feature Planet Hollywood Hip luxury bedding and Planet Hollywood Hip signature furnishings throughout."

I want Hollywood Hip luxury bedding!!! :D

The Flamingo looks pretty reasonable with nice tacky factor, and it's across the street and down a couple casinos from swankytown where the concert is.

thanks! Great tip, I feel the need to stay at The Cosmo where the concert is, based on pure laziness and necessity but its a small fortune to stay there, I need to scope the strip out...Im a Vegas Virgin:o

Imperial Palace seems to be the cheapest, but it's the seediest of the larger casino hotels on the new strip. (There's an old strip that has a lot of classic kitcsh vibe and is good to visit, but maybe not for this trip as it would require a taxi to get to the venue.) A lot of hotels are run by the same company. The nicer hotels are the Bellagio, Venetian, Paris, Caesars Palace, Cosmo, The Wynn (?), then there are "family oriented" hotels that are cheaper like New York New York, Planet Hollywood, The circus one I forget the name now... Anyway, Google "Las Vegas Strip" and look at the map of what hotels are near the Cosmo and just check out their prices, that's what I've done. :thumb: Sadly my friend I'm splitting the room with is a smoker so I have to stay in a smoking room :)mad:) but the good part about that is our standards are lower and we can stay in The Flamingo and not stress about having a stinky, "I-bet-a-whore's-been-here" room because you just accept that fact in a jenky hotel. :p If money were no option I'd stay at the Cosmo.

haha I have a feeling that whores have been everywhere but the kitchen sink in Vegas, my extreme germ phobia may lead me to buy bed sheets and toss 'em out when I return regardless of where I stay:D Money is actually an option but because Ive been through a bad breakup I have convinced myself that I deserve to stay at the Cosmo :D even if I dont eat for a month :guitar:
thx CG!

I have been to Vegas many times, for both Morrissey and for general debauchery, and can highly recommend the Flamingo for all your lodging needs. As mentioned, it has a great location, a real history to it, and the rooms are just fine. Great rates too.

Sadly will NOT be present this time around.

Did you stay in one of the GO rooms with the fancy curtains and HiDef television and something fancy about the mirrors in the bathroom? THat's the room I'm eyeing, non-view version. I need some gamblin' money. :p

Vegas Meet-Up

Stop me if you think that youve heard this one before :blushing:

Anyone up for a meetup? Not a drunkard random meetup, more like pre-Moz show meetup on Nov25th which will hopefully eventually lead to a post-show drunkard random evening.

:guitar:

PS...And really if anyone says 'What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas' will be subject to severe penalties.

Pre show perhaps at cosmo?

Re: Vegas Meet-Up

I booked my room today at the Flamingo. Wooot! I went for the GO Deluxe because it has fancy curtains and a nice television. :p And the room name is code for God is Light, I couldn't resist. You know, 1John 1:5. Can't ditch the symbolic shit, even in Vegas. :D

Do it! Their lobby coffee shop is called The Pink Bean. Can it get any better than that? :p I mean c'mon!!! Also the little movie on the mainpage is completely cool. It's clearly the place to stay. We can meet up for beers the morning of, we're getting there before the sun rises that day and I'm not a queuer. I'll have all morning to kill. They even have a flock of Chilean Flamingos! Look at the room I booked, I found a video. FANCY CURTAINS! And a flippin tv IN the mirror in the bathroom so I can watch Family Guy while I'm brushing my teeth and getting ready for the show! LOLOL!!!
