Why isn't there a story on the main page about the push to get Moz to No. 1??

Download something useful or useless!

Hopefully it's on the mainboard this evening?
Lets download Moz to Number 1!!!!!!!!!

Christ, let's not turn into Will Young fans! It's not that important is it?

God, you sound like a dick head. I'm a fan but it doesn't make any difference if he gets to number 1 in the pathetic British Chart. It only serve us as a reminder that the Britsh public is only interested in Crazy Frog and Chico Time.

We all want our recognition at some level!
Please, don't take it too personal.

Moz has apparently closed the gap on No 1, but...

Just had an email from my a chart-following pal about this. Reprinted with her permission:

"Moz is a lot closer to Gnarls Barkley than he was on Monday, but meanwhile he's actually been overtaken by Ne-Yo. Close of play yesterday, Ne-Yo was 200 ahead, and Sanctuary responded to this with a rabble-rousing email to try and get fans to buy another couple of copies each. Barkley's only a couple of thousand ahead now, and the gap from 3 to 1 is closing rapidly all the time.

Basically, this is because Gnarls Barkley is only available on 1 format (download) whereas many Moz fans are buying 2 CDs + the 7" at the same time. There was a huge splurge on Monday and Tuesday for the Gnarls track, but it's slowed down dramatically. It will be number 1 by miles next week when it comes out on CD. The Ne-Yo track has been selling consistently this week - it's selling well on 12" actually - but this will probably peter out later in the week. HMV and Virgin Oxford Street both tell me that sales on Moz today have been better than Ne-Yo, so he may have No 2 back by the end of the day on physical sales. His downloads numbers are still appalling, however. He'll definitely finish the week with the lowest downloads figures on a top 3 single since they started counting in the charts. Frightening stat: at the moment, He's being outsold 5-1 by MC Hammer's U Can't Touch This on iTunes!

So yeah, at the very least, Morrissey is going to get No 3. Embrace and Orson are close together in the battle for 4th, but are miles behind. The Kooks are next, and were closing the gap on Tue, but Wed sales for their single were way down, so 6th is probably the best they can get."
