Worst Moz couplets? Exploding kegs between my legs

Has anyone got any suggestions for Moz's most cringeworthy rhyming couplet? Some of my thoughts include:

'There are exploding kegs, between my legs' - Dear God, Please Help Me

'With your mascara, and your Fender guitar' - Get Off the Stage

'Your boyfriend went down on one knee, could it be he's only got one knee' - King Leer

'I'll bring the paper in later' - Best friend on the Payroll

I suppose it is no coincidence that most of these dodgy rhymes appear in some of his worst songs!!

the funniest/the worst/the silliest/the most outrageous .... same difference

i will gurgle
from the circles

Dear Gos please Help Me is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard him sing

King Leer to me is a work of art!

> 'I'll bring the paper in later' - Best friend on the Payroll

Great Song -

A gilr like you - something about metaphorically and allegorically

Re: Not Literally but metaphorically

I, too agree with you that some of those songs are really quite good. Oh well.

I'll never learn

good thread

Seeing as how truly bad Morrissey couplets are a rarity.

The line is in fact 'There are explosive kegs between my legs' and yeah, I find it crap too.

I really like some of those listed here as poor, especially 'I'll bring the paper in later' and 'Not literally but metaphorically'.

'Til the day that you croak, it's no joke' is very arresting in its badness to me, like it was me to sit up and take notice...

I strongly dislike
'I'm lying hear wide to receive almost anything you'd care to give/leave', Wide to Receive
'I've had my face dragged in 15 miles of shit, and I do not, and I do not, and I do not like it', How Can Anybody Know How I Feel (I know it's supposed to be funny...)
'If the bogeyman should try to play tricks on your sacred mind', The Hand That Rocks the Cradle
'Heifer whines could be human cries', Meat Is Murder -> way to draw a comparison! 'could be'?
'Papa Jack in decline feels inclined...', Papa Jack - practically the whole song really

There are others...

love, math+

hand that rocks the cradle

how can anyone quote anything from HTRTC and say its bad lyrics? The entirity of that song is one of the finest examples of Morrissey's genius, from start to finish, the weight, the poetry and imagery of it, it's just beautiful lyric-wise, not a word in that song sounds out of place.

In my opinion anyway.
