Morrissey has sung songs such as 'No one can hold a candle to you' and 'Redondo beach'. He isn't likely to sing 'Dancing Queen' or 'Umbrella'!

I think 10,000 Midnights by The Spill Canvas would be a good one.

He should cover 'Storyteller!' KIDDING

maybe something like 'I Only Have Eyes For You' (The Flamingos)
have to admit though, what i'd really like him to cover is.... Mystery Train (Elvis), Holy f***! (Lord Cut-Glass),...... or..... Kings Of The Wild Frontier (Adam & The Ants) & Golf Trek (GBOA) {why the hell not!!!???:squiffy: it'd be funny}

What cover version would you like to hear Morrissey sing?

I really, really love Moz singing 'Satellite of Love' and wondered what other songs he should sing? I would love to hear him sing 'Angel' by Everything but the girl, but that is probably only me!

It might be a bit "old fogie" but I'd love to hear him do Sinatra's "Summer Wind" - my favourite from the Chairman of the Board.

I'm for Frank Sinatra, but how about 'Cycles'? It suits him perfectly in my opinion,
The lyrics:
So I'm down and so I'm out
But so are many others
So I feel like tryin' to hide
My head 'neath these covers
Life is like the seasons
After winter comes the spring
So I'll keep this smile awhile
And see what tomorrow brings

I've been told and I believe
That life is meant for livin'
And even when my chips are low
There's still some left for givin'
I've been many places
Maybe not as far as you
So I think I'll stay awhile
And see if some dreams come true

There isn't much that I have learned
Through all my foolish years
Except that life keeps runnin' in cycles
First there's laughter, then those tears

But I'll keep my head up high
Although I'm kinda tired
My gal just up and left last week
Friday I got fired
You know it's almost funny
But things can't get worse than now
So I'll keep on tryin' to sing
But please, just don't ask me how

EDIT: Or, perhaps even better; The Single Man

I live alone, that hasn't always been easy to do for just a single man
Sometimes at night the walls talk back to me,
They seem to say, wasn't yesterday a better day?
Always alone, at home or in a crowd,
A single man off on his private cloud,
Caught in a world that few men understand,
I am what I am, the single man.
Once was a time, I can't remember when,
The house was filled with love, but then again,
It might have been imagination's plan
To help along a single man.

That is obvious, and in my case more likely as dozens times. lolx
Well, its awesome idea to think and hear it.
Keep it up
regards

If so, what song? I'm listening to 'The Wild Ones' by Suede at the moment and I think Moz would sing it beautifully.

I love this song but I don't think Morrissey's voice would really go high enough for it. Brett Anderson just have a very different vocal range than Morrissey. It's not a knock on Moz. It would be like getting Morrissey to sound right doing a Metallica song.

'Pretty Pathetic' by the Smoking Popes.
Pretty much most of their songs would be lovely with Moz's voice.
