Chicago - "Deeply Disturbed"
by Justin North

Sept. 29, 1997

I am deeply disturbed and quite disgusted with the Morrissey fans in the nineties. Morrissey has been putting on excellent shows, and besides few blunders is in tip top condition. People don’t think of him as a human, they take him as a god. A god which is perfect and can control his ailments with the flick of a wrist. When someone is sick, they are sick. Those who actually have the audacity to critique style (when it was Morrissey who gave it to them) make me ill and they make me angry. We should be thankful that he has provided us with a life time of grace, and not throw him to the lions for a few mistakes. Don’t forget the reasons you went to the show, or else you are just a ticket winning grub without a heart, without a mind, without a soul. Do not hate him for loving. He did not have to go on tour. I feel sorry for Morrissey. He can never win. If he had cancelled the Chicago show, people would be upset and say, "I would prefer a bad show than no show." However, he tried to give the show, but he was not feeling well and people said, "Fuck Morrissey," or "Morrissey sucks." These people should be taken off to obedience school. I am sick to the tattoo with half-hearted people. "People like you make me feel so old inside, when will you die...?"
