Sunday Night Set

Hi all,

Sunday in Boston went well. Sheila Divine opened and were promising. Their website (thesheiladivine.com) is pretty cool as is a fan website (HTML speaking).

As for the main attraction...

Seemed very chatty, self-mocking at times. Flubbed up a few songs here and there, but laughed it off pretty well. Quipped in a similar manner as has been mentioned in previous show reports. More than a couple people got to the stage, scattered throughout the show. A few made the big leap from the crowd only to fall into the pit (hehehe).

I counted three shirts into the crowd..one was used as a towel by Moz in a wry, mock fashion before he tossed it into the crowd and the scramble ensued. He seemed to enjoy that.

Set list was typical of the tour. Best songs were: Hairdresser on Fire (a big WFNX fav from a while back), Ouija Board (another big hit on 'FNX -- local station here that carries Smith/Morrissey songs and sponsors to tonight's show) and Tomorrow. Shoplifters of the World was VERY well done tonight...and no one crashed the final song, as happened the last tour. It still rings in my ears. BTW, whomever is doing the sound-- Kudos to you! Crystal clear but loud! Nice work.

Still left wishing for more, certain songs not heard in a while (Certain People, Alma Matters, More You Ignore Me), etc...but all in all worth the $$$, two hours in line to get in and the smoke. (Morrissey crowds smoke up a storm!)

Maybe Morrissey will become like Steve Miller and do tours every other year??? Might get to hear Suedehead again someday...enjoy Portland folks!
