Late in coming, but that's ok.
First off, the show was wonderful. I made it right to the front and
got to give Moz a little letter I'd written on the back of a photograph. He seemed so very reachable, very...human. I don't know if it was a reflection of myself getting on a bit, or if he himself was changed since I last saw him play. Well, we all know he's changed. He seemed almost as much a comedian as a singer.I couldn't believe how light and, well, silly he was. I was actually kind of weird. But, even so, this show was far better than the two I saw in '97. I loved hearing "Lost," "Half a Person" and "Hairdresser."
I haven't seen this quote posted yet: In reference to Meat is Murder,
after the song Moz said "It's a faze, I'm still going through it."
It was such a tossed off line, it was great.
The crowd was a little weak. I don't understand why anyone would pay
40 buck to see a show and then sit idle, looking utterly bored for the
duration. I'm of a mind that if you get up, and get into it, you'll feel so much more fulfilled. And at a Morrissey Show! The fans are such an important part of the evening!
The security (even though the lads and lasses got the best of them during "Shoplifters") were great. The guy in front of me actually knew
the words to a bunch of songs! Watching him do the "Ooo Oh-oh-oh" in "Hairdresser" was extremely funny.
Considering I could only afford to see one show, I definately picked the right one. This may actually rival The Ritz from '92 in my
heart. Thank you Morrissey.
