Watt's involvement with Bonfire Of Teenagers was initially suggested by Chad Smith during his Percussion Discussion interview (February 2021).

Morrissey then alluded to him via his interview "Turning The Inside Out." (July, 2021):

The moods, the twists, the precision … it's difficult to do well, and I was blessed with a most supremely intelligent producer. He played and sang backing vocals on every track … so beautifully … and brought something that no one else could hear into each track.

In an interview with Mojo Magazine (March issue 340 - released January, 2022), Eddie Vedder confirmed Watt as working with Morrissey:

Speaking about Andrew Watt, Eddie Vedder tells: “He was working on the Morrissey record, some of the best Morrissey stuff I’d heard in years, so I was curious to see his studio. He was working a lot with Chad Smith and Josh Klinghoffer, getting great sounding results.
