Line 1: Line 1:

MR: Take a look through the Smiths and Morrissey live sections. They may be at a place where you can take them off this list for things to do before launch.
DT: There is an annoying bug I've been trying to track down, page loads on the wiki are a couple seconds slower if you happened to be logged-in to Facebook. I see this with my account, but it likely happens with others. Likely some bug with the vbulletin / mediawiki integraton, I'll keep looking for a solution.

DT: Yep, looks good, definitely more than I expected for launch. I have it in the 'pages that need work' section so those who have data / bandwidth can choose to work on them. There is so much that can be added that they will probably always need some work so it may not be that useful to list them. For now I'll keep it in. I'd like to see an example page that has a good amount of features - perhaps concert descriptions, links to videos, photos or reviews (that are not included in the existing post-show pages) and other perhaps other features we haven't thought of.

MR: When you say "Discography, stub data clean up" what does that mean? If you can give me an example I can start working through the entries.

DT:

Perhaps a quick run through of all the songs / albums in the discography will do, VH has most details filled out. Stubs without credit are ok, I'm more concerned with any credits that may be incorrect. A quick doublecheck would be good so it's not a major issue, these can always be fixed afterwards.

For example Jeff Beck only played on "Black Cloud" but is included in the credits on the YOR songs:

DT: For the bio page, I'm thinking of adding a timeline similar to this one for Jane Austen would be better than the wikipedia sections with a lot of text:

Adding a column for releases and perhaps tour history instead of literary / political history might work well. Perhaps a separate timeline specific to the Smiths can go on the Smiths page. Let me know any suggestions.

MR: Anything else you want me to work on/look over before the 27?

DT: I think we are ready for launch, thanks for asking. If you or other early access users have time to look around the wiki and do some tidying / look for easy fixes that would help. I'll likely just work on the timeline on Saturday / Sunday and write up the article for the launch. Going forward I will likely need the help of the original wiki editors to help oversee edits / recent activity to the high standards we have set forth. Also, help guide and encourage people to make good contributions. I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't much contribution early on but over time I think we may be surprised.

DT: Ran into some delays and need to head into work. Let's push the release one day to Aug. 28. Or possibly tonight Aug. 27. I need to make sure there is time to monitor things in case something breaks after going live.
