The Vini Reilly 'I wrote Viva Hate' thing

Vini has had times in his life when he really struggled financially and emotionally - sleeping on friend's couches and so on.... and according to Tony Wilson, he was paid poorly for Viva Hate which then became a huge success. I think he was desperate and he said things that weren't true in an...

    Truly disappointing

Bizarre logic. Morrissey put a bomb under his career time and time again but it's because he cares? About what? Because it's not his band or making music or actually putting effort into his career, he's done every human thing possible to screw up his chances there over the past 7 years. That's...

    Truly disappointing

He's nearly 65, 'mainstream' success is long behind him and his heart isn't in it anymore. What do you expect? It's been about 'the pension fund' for a long, long time.

We've had the memoirs. Now the story of the songs, the sleeves, the shows - a coffee table book by Morrissey and Marr - that would be the dream 🎸❤️

No, Andy has passed, the time has passed. But I wonder if some recent event in the Smiths world (maybe Hinc) has contributed to this reflective mood. A thawing of the ice.. would be nice.

No idea what has prompted this but wow. Wonderful. I love it when he talks with such pride and affection for those days. Wondering why this came so out of the blue.

What's *the most* Morrissey lyric, in your view?

I know that they take and that they take in turn And they give you nothing real for yourself in return But when they've used you and they've broken you And wasted all your money and cast your shell aside And when they've bought you and they've sold you and they've billed you for the pleasure...

Off-topic discussion thread / moved as clogging other threads

I think I've explained why at some length now and you've just deflected, tried to blame the actual users for the fact you're collecting and cross-posting their content, tried to play the victim, and offered some batshittery about my 'pals'. The idea that a music forum for an 80s pop singer is...

Morrissey Central "There Is A Happy Land." (February 14, 2024)

I love "Years of Refusal" but have to agree about the 'holiday in Magaluf' sound. It just sounds so dated to me. Dated, cheesy and out of place.
