Fiona Dodwell: "The Mythology Of Morrissey" (November 16, 2021)

If you want to understand Morrissey and the Smiths, don't read Fiona Dodwell for Christ's sake. Read Simon Goddard. Thank me later.
  2. Sister I'm a Poet

Morrissey Central & SER YT: “Once Upon A Woman’s Body” (October 30, 2021)

Pretty nice track. No question about the content. Rehashing the same failures at heterosexual coupling that he recounted on Pretty Girls Make Graves in 1984! "I lost my faith in womanhood" indeed! I's think he'd be over it by now and doing more in the way of celebrating his success at same-sex...
  3. Sister I'm a Poet

Morrissey Central "YOUR VACCINATION:" (October 27, 2021)

Morrissey, Eric Clapton, and Van Morrison should go on the road together. They could call themselves The Cranky Geezers!!

In the photo on the right looking down, it definitely looks exactly like him! Looks real to me. Love it!
  6. Sister I'm a Poet

Post Millennial / Fiona Dodwell: "Morrissey and the misguided outrage of his critics" (August 29, 2021)

Talk about lazy and sloppy. She gets a basic fact wrong in the 2nd sentence! "as part of a replacement for Slipknot, who has canceled their appearance". It is clearly and correctly stated in the article that she is responding to that it was Nine Inch Nails who canceled. Morrissey and Slipknot...

Las Vegas, NV - The Colosseum at Caesars Palace (Aug. 29, 2021) post-show

I hope she's joking. I mean, I like Kirsty MacColl as much as the next guy, but that is laughable...

National Review: Music for the Masses: The Debut of Pop Fascism by Armond White (Aug. 20, 2021)

The thing about Armond White, even if I disagree with almost everything he has to say, he is a smart, independent thinker and a generally good writer. Not like that hack Fiona Dodwell...

"Johnny Marr says The Smiths had a “blind spot” of being obsessed with media and notoriety" - NME (July 5, 2021)

Absolutely. No disrespect for the boys. Boy brilliant and essential in their own way as members of the band!

"Johnny Marr says The Smiths had a “blind spot” of being obsessed with media and notoriety" - NME (July 5, 2021)

KetSun, You won't stand for even the mildest criticism of Moz, will you? :ROFLMAO:

"Johnny Marr says The Smiths had a “blind spot” of being obsessed with media and notoriety" - NME (July 5, 2021)

Why all the Johnny bashing?! The Smiths were Morrissey and Marr. A perfect partnership. The reason the band broke up is all the stress that Marr was in trying to be in charge of the music AND the management of the Smiths. If they worried less about the press and trying to manage themselves, and...
  12. Sister I'm a Poet

Morrissey Central "Turning The Inside Out." (July 5, 2021)

Not verboten, just off-topic. The topic was his mother's death and his own mortality, not the nationality of random mentally-ill killers.
  13. Sister I'm a Poet

Morrissey Central "Turning The Inside Out." (July 5, 2021)

The good thing about his nephew asking the questions is that there are thoughtful questions about the new songs, Morrissey's mother, etc, and Moz answers those with thoughtfulness and wit. The bad think about SER asking the questions is that he indulges all of Moz's worst political opinions.

Morrissey Central "Turning The Inside Out." (July 5, 2021)

It was all going so swimmingly until I got to, "The killer was from Albania and was only recently allowed into Britain..."

Morrissey Central "YOUR HEALTH IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS" (June 15, 2021)

Of course he's gay. He just never wanted to disappoint his Irish Catholic mother!
  16. Sister I'm a Poet

Morrissey Central "YOUR HEALTH IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS" (June 15, 2021)

He's not wrong about the Gallaghers or their shite music or reactionary politics though, is his? (Also, don't tell Morrissey that he counts as a gay artist! He's a humasexual! :ROFLMAO: )

Here's a freaking brilliant piece of writing on Noel and Co. Moz doesn't escape unscathed either:
